C. Aileron Balance Tab Position Test
SUBTASK 27-11-00-860-057
(1) Do this task: Supply Electrical Power, TASK 24-22-00-860-811.

(2) Do a test of the position of the aileron LEFT balance tab:
NOTE: For all aileron tab measurements in this test, measure the distances from the LOWER
surface of the aileron tab at the tip of the trailing edge to the LOWER surface of the
aileron at the tip of the trailing edge.
(a) Set the aileron at the rig position (Figure 506).
NOTE: The aileron rig position is when the outboard edge of the aileron upper surface is
0.49 ±0.03 inch (12.4 ±0.8 millimeters) below the adjacent fixed lower trailing
edge surface.
(b) Measure the vertical distance from the tip of the outboard trailing edge of the aileron tab to
the tip of the adjacent aileron trailing edge.

1) Make sure the distance is 0.12 ±0.07 inch (3.05 ±1.8 millimeter).

2) Make sure the distance is 0.06 ±0.07 inch (1.5 ±1.8 millimeter).

(c) Manually move the aileron DOWN so that the tip of the outboard lower trailing edge of the
aileron is 3.63 ±0.01 inches (92.2 ±0.25 millimeters) below the tip of the lower trailing
edge of the adjacent fixed trailing edge surface.

(d) Manually move the aileron DOWN so that the tip of the outboard lower trailing edge of the
aileron is 3.39 ±0.01 inches (86.1 ±0.25 millimeters) below the tip of the lower trailing
edge of the adjacent fixed trailing edge surface.

(e) Measure the distance from the tip of the lower surface of the aileron tab to the tip of the
lower surface of the adjacent aileron trailing edge.
