R C. Adjustment of the Interconnecting Strut
R (1) Install the PIN-SETTING (98D27504031000) in the inspection/setting
R hole in the interconnecting strut (1).
R NOTE : The strut can have one or two inspection/setting holes. If____
R there are two, use the hole that is not blocked by the
R aircraft structure.
R (2) If necessary, adjust the actuating rod of the interconnecting strut
R (1) so that you can install the PIN-SETTING as follows:
R (a) Align the rod-end (20) with the flap until you can install the
R bolt (19).
R (b) If necessary, remove and discard the lockwire from the locknut
R (21).
R (c) Loosen the locknut (21) sufficiently to let you turn the nut
R (22).
R (d) Adjust the nut (22) until you can install the PIN-SETTING. Make
R sure that you can see the threads of the rod-end (20) through the
R check hole. If you cannot see the threads of the rod-end (20)
R through the check hole, check the flap rigging (Ref. TASK 27-51-
R 00-820-003).
R (e) Tighten the locknut (21).
R (f) Do an operational test of the flap interconnecting strut and the
R flap-attachment failure-detection sensors (Ref. TASK 27-51-00-
R 710-002).
R (g) Loosely install the washer (18) and the nut (16).
R (3) Remove the blanking caps and connect the electrical connectors (14)
R and (15) to their related connectors (12) and (13) on the inboard
R flap.
R (Ref. Fig. 402A/TASK 27-51-44-991-004-A)
R (4) Clean the electrical connectors (14) and (15) with a MISCELLANEOUS
R (Material No. 19-003) made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No.
R 11-026).

R R (5) Apply a continuous layer of STORAGE PRESERVATION (Material No. 15-008) to the electrical connectors (14) and (15).
R R (6) Remove the PIN-SETTING from the inspection/setting hole in the interconnecting strut (1).
