At the track 1 position, remove the TOOL RESTRAINING TK1 from the flap track 1 beam as follows:
(a)
Loosen the pins (124) and remove the side-plates (121) from the flap track beam (122).
(b)
Disconnect the stop (126) from the flap carriage (120).
(c)
Remove the tool assembly from the flap track beam (122).
(3)
At the track 2 position, remove the KIT-FLAP RIGGING from the flap track beam as follows:
(a)
Remove the scale block (127) from the fin (128).
(b)
Remove the pin (129) and remove the fin (128) from the base assembly (130).
(c)
Loosen the knurled screws (134) and remove the base assembly
(130) from the flaptrack beam (135). Subtask 27-51-00-080-053
P. Remove the Tab Distance Gages from the Inboard and Outboard Flaps
(Ref. Fig. 532/TASK 27-51-00-991-081)
(1) Remove the DISTANCE GAUGES from the inboard flap tab as follows:
(a) At the hinge 1A position: 1 Remove the knurled screw (21) and the forward pin (20).

2 Remove the rear pin (23) and the distance gage (22).
_
(b) At the track 2 position: 1 Remove the knurled screw (24) and the forward pin (27).
_ 2 Remove the knurled screw (25), the rear pin (24) and remove
_
the distance gage (26).

(2) Remove the DISTANCE GAUGES from the outboard flap tab as follows:
(a)
At the track 3 position: 1 Release the pins (18) and (19) and remove the distance gage

(17).
(b)
At the track 4 position: 1 Release the pin (16) and remove the distance gage (15).
_
(3)
Remove the rigging pin (70) at the track 1 position.
(4)
Manually extend the flaps to the fully extended position (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-866-011). Make sure that the flaps operate correctly.

Q. Installation of the Tab Drive Control-Rod at the Track 2 Position
(Ref. Fig. 533/TASK 27-51-00-991-082)
(1) Connect the tab drive control-rod (42) at the track 2 position:
(a)
Make sure that the flaps are in the fully retracted position.
(b)
Install the loose bush (31).
(c)
If necessary, adjust the tab drive control-rod (42) to let you connect it to the carriage assembly (30):
1 Remove the bolt (35) and remove the tab drive control-rod
_
(42).
2 Remove and discard the lockwire from the nuts (37) and (43).
_
3 Loosen the nuts (37) and (43).
_ 4 Install the tab drive control-rod (42) to the tab attachment
_
bracket (36) with the bolt (124).
5 Adjust the length of the tab drive control-rod (42) until you
_
can install the bolt (44).

(2) When the tab drive control-rod (42) is at its correct length:
(a)
Install the bolt (44).
(b)
Tighten the nuts (37) and (43) by hand as much as possible.
(c)
Remove the bolts (44) and (35) and remove the tab drive control-rod (42).
(d)
Make sure that the threads of the eye-ends of the tab drive control rod (42) are in safety.
(e)
TORQUE the nut (43) to between 3.3 and 3.8 m.daN (24.33 and 28.02 lbf.ft).
(f)
TORQUE the nut (37) to between 2.2 and 2.4 m.daN (16.22 and 17.69 lbf.ft).
(g)
Safety the nuts (37) and (43) with MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-010).
(h)
Install the correctly adjusted tab drive control-rod (42) with the bolts (35) and (44).
(i)
Install the washers (32) and (40) and the nuts (34) and (39).
(j)
TORQUE the nut (34) to between 0.8 and 1.4 m.daN (70.79 and
123.89 lbf.in).
(k)
Safety the nut (34) with the new cotter pin (33).
(l)
TORQUE the nut (39) to between 2.2 and 2.4 m.daN (16.22 and 17.69 lbf.ft).
(m) Safety the nut (39) with the new cotter pin (38). Subtask 27-51-00-420-080
