A. Safety Precautions
WARNING : OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.

(1)
You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. TASK 28-00-00-910-001) when you do work on the fuel system.
(2)
Put the safety barriers in position.
(3)
Put a warning notice in position to tell persons not to operate the MLG doors.

B. Get Access
(1)
Open the MLG doors (Ref. TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(2)
Make sure that the GROUND LOCK SLEEVE is on the applicable MLG door actuator.
(3)
Put an access platform below the transfer defuel valve (11QM).
(4)
Open the access panel 192MB. NOTE : Do not keep the door open longer than necessary because the

battery can discharge.

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
On the panel 800VU, make sure that the MODE SELECT switch is in the OFF and guarded position. Make sure that the warning notice is still attached to the switch.
(2)
Make sure that the circuit breaker 1QU on panel 121VU, is still open, safetied and tagged. Make sure that the warning notice is still attached to the circuit breaker.
4. Procedure

A. Reactivation of the Transfer Defuel Valve
(1)
Remove the applicable item(s) from the polythene bag(s).
(2)
Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors.
(3)
If applicable, release the screw (2) and remove V-band clamp (82QM). Remove the VALVE LOCKING TOOL from the transfer defuel valve (11QM).
(4)
Make sure that you remove the dowel (3) from between the VALVE LOCKING TOOL and the face plate of the drive shaft. Keep the dowel
(3) safe with the VALVE LOCKING TOOL.
(5)
If the transfer defuel valve (11QM) is unserviceable, then replace it, (Ref. TASK 28-25-43-000-001) and (Ref. TASK 28-25-43-400-001).
(6)
If the actuator (11QU) is unserviceable, then replace it, (Ref. TASK 28-25-53-000-001) and (Ref. TASK 28-25-53-400-001).
NOTE : It is possible that the actuator (11QU) is in a polythene bag.

(7) If you do not know the cause of the failure, trouble-shoot the system and do the corrective action (Ref. TSM Chapter 28).

B. Remove the safety clip and the tag and close the circuit breaker 1QU on panel 121VU.

5. Close-up

A. Close Access
(1)
Remove the warning notices from the circuit breaker 1QU in the cockpit and the MODE SELECT switch on the panel 800VU.
(2)
Remove the access platform(s).
(3)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(4)
Close the MLG doors (Ref. TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
(5) Close the access panel 192MB. Subtask 28-25-00-942-068
B. Removal of Equipment
(1)
Remove the safety barriers.
(2)
Remove the warning notice(s).
(3)
Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(4)
Write an entry in the aircraft technical log to say that the transfer/defuel valve is reactivated.
