 A. Prepare the Vertical Stabilizer Tip for Installation
 (1)
 Remove the sealant from the mating surfaces along the spar-box and the leading- edge rib with a nonmetalic scraper.

 (2)
 Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.

 (3)
 Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.

 (4)
 Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

 (5)
 Examine the anchor nuts on the leading-edge rib and the spar-box for good condition.

 B. Install the Vertical Stabilizer Tip
 WARNING : OBEY THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS WHEN YOU USE THE SPECIAL_______ MATERIAL. THIS MATERIAL IS DANGEROUS.
 (1) Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-018) to the mating surfaces of the tip (1).
 NOTE : Do not apply sealant to the bonding points.____
 (2) Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-013) along the mating surfaces of the spar box and the leading-edge rib.
 NOTE : Do not apply special material to the bonding points.____
 (3) Attach the SLING - DORSAL FIN, LEADING EDGES, END CAP (98D55307531001) to the hoist fittings (4).
 (4) Put the tip (1) in position. 
R R  (5) Install and TORQUE the screws (3) to between 0.4 and 0.5 m.daN (35.39 and 44.24 lbf.in). 
R R R  (6) Make sure that the electrical bonding between the vertical stabilizer lightning conductor and the THS bonding leads is not higher than the maximum permitted resistance value (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-869-002). 
R  (7) Make sure the clearance "a" around the tip is 1 +3 -0 mm (0.0393 +0.1181 -0.0000 in.). 
R  (8) Remove the sling. 
R  (9) Remove the hoist fittings (4). 
R  (10) Install the plastic plugs into the hoisting point. 
R  (11) Install the SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-052) over the hoisting point(s). 
R  (12) Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-016) into the gap around the tip (1). 
R  (13) Install the static discharger (2) (Ref. TASK 23-61-41-400-001).

 (1)
 Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.

 (2)
 Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.

 (3)
 Remove the warning notice(s).

 B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 15CE1, 15CE2, 16CE1, 16CE2, 19CE1, 19CE2, 19CE3, 5CC1, 5CC2, 14CC1, 14CC2, 15CC, 21CE1, 21CE2, 21CE3, 22CE
