 (1)
 If the electrical power is not necessary for other maintenance tasks, de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then, it is not necessary to open the LGCIU circuit breakers.

 (2)
 If the electrical power is necessary, do the precautions for flight configuration (Ref. TASK 32-00-00-860-001) before you open the LGCIU circuit breakers.

 A. Removal of the Proximity-Sensors
 (1)
 For the NLG-uplock proximity-sensors 12GA, 13GA, 30GA, 31GA: (Ref. Fig. 406/TASK 32-31-73-991-007)

 (a)
 Disconnect the electrical connector (128) from the applicable proximity-sensor (130):

 -
for System 1, Gear Uplock, disconnect FIN 12GA

 -
for System 2, Gear Uplock, disconnect FIN 13GA

 -
for System 1, Door Uplock, disconnect FIN 30GA

 -
for System 2, Door Uplock, disconnect FIN 31GA.

 (b)
 Put blanking caps on the disconnected electrical connectors.

 (c)
 Remove and discard the cotter pins (126) from the nuts (125).

 (d)
 Identify the position of the proximity-sensor (130) before you remove it.

 (e)
 Remove the nuts (125), the washers (127), the bolts (129) and the proximity-sensor (130) from the applicable uplock assembly.

 (2)
 For the NLG-downlock proximity-sensors 18GA(19GA):
 (Ref. Fig. 406/TASK 32-31-73-991-007)

 (a)
 Disconnect the electrical connector (142) from the applicable proximity-sensor (145):

for System 1, Downlock, disconnect FIN 18GA

 -
for System 2, Downlock, disconnect FIN 19GA.

 (b)
 Put blanking caps on the disconnected electrical connectors.

 (c)
 Identify the positions of the proximity-sensor (145) and the target (149) before you remove them.

 (d)
 Remove the bolts (146), the washers (143), the nuts (144), the shim (if installed) and the proximity-sensor (145) from the sensor mounting-bracket.

 (e)
 Identify the position and keep the shim, if installed, with the applicable sensor mounting bracket.

 (f)
 If it is necessary to remove the target (149), remove the:

 -bolts (148)
 -washers (147)
 -target (149)
 -shim if installed.

 (g)
 Identify the position and keep the shim, if installed, with the applicable target mounting bracket.

 (3) For the NLG-extension proximity-sensors 24GA(25GA): (Ref. Fig. 406/TASK 32-31-73-991-007)
 (a)
 Disconnect the electrical connector (158) from the applicable proximity-sensor: (153):

 -
for System 1, Extension, disconnect FIN 24GA

 -
for System 2, Extension, disconnect FIN 25GA.

 (b)
 Put blanking caps on the disconnected electrical connectors.

 (c)
 Identify the positions of the proximity-sensor (153) and the target (154) before you remove them.

 (d)
 Remove the bolts (152), the washers (151), the nuts (150) and the proximity-sensor (153).

 (e)
 Identify the position and keep the shim, if installed, with the applicable sensor mounting bracket.

 (f)
 If it is necessary to remove the target (154), remove the:

 -bolts (155)
 -washers (156)
 -nuts (157)
 -target (154).
