 4. Procedure

 A. Preparation for Installation
 (1)
 Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026).

 (2)
 Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

 (3)
 Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.

 (4) Make sure that the applicable bonded shims/spacers are correctly installed and are not loose.

R  B. Installation of the Proximity-Sensors 
R R  NOTE : It is permitted to install a sensor target without a shim if the____ correct clearance can be set without the shim.
 (1) For the NLG-uplock and door-uplock proximity-sensors 12GA, 13GA, 30GA, 31GA: (Ref. Fig. 406/TASK 32-31-73-991-007)
 (a) Install the proximity-sensor (130) on the applicable uplock unit with the bolts (129), the washers (127) and the nuts (125).
 (b) Make sure that the proximity-sensor (130) is in the position identified before removal.
 (c) Tighten the nuts (125) and safety with a new cotter pin (126).
 (d) Remove the blanking cap from the electrical connector (128).
 (e) Make sure that the electrical connector (128) is in the correct condition.
 (f) Connect the electrical connector (128) to the applicable proximity-sensor (130): - for System 1, NLG Uplock, connect FIN 12GA - for System 2, NLG Uplock, connect FIN 13GA - for System 1, Door Uplock, connect FIN 30GA - for System 2, Door Uplock, connect FIN 31GA.
 (2) For the NLG-downlock proximity-sensors 18GA(19GA): (Ref. Fig. 406/TASK 32-31-73-991-007) 
R R R  (a) Install the proximity-sensor (145) and the shim (if applicable) on the sensor mounting bracket with the bolts (146), the washers (143) and the nuts (144).
R R  (b) If the target (149) was removed: - install the target (149) and the shim if applicable, on the mounting bracket with the bolts (148) and the washers (147).
 (c) Make sure that the proximity-sensor (145) and the target (149) are in the positions identified before removal.

 (d)
 Tighten the nuts (144) and, if necessary, the bolts (148).

 (e)
 Remove the blanking cap from the electrical connector (142).

 (f)
 Make sure the electrical connector (142) is in the correct condition.

 (g)
 Connect the electrical connector (142) to the applicable proximity-sensor (145):

 -
for System 1, Downlock, connect FIN 18GA

 -
for System 2, Downlock, connect FIN 19GA.

 (3) For the NLG-extension proximity-sensors 24GA(25GA): (Ref. Fig. 406/TASK 32-31-73-991-007)
 (a)
 Install the proximity-sensor (153) on the mounting bracket with the the bolts (152), the washers (151) and the nuts (150).

 (b)
 If the target (154) was removed:

 -install the target (154) on the mounting bracket with the bolts (155), the washers (156) and the nuts (157).

 (c)
 Make sure that the proximity-sensor (153) and the target (154) are in the positions identified before removal.

 (d)
 Tighten the nuts (150) and, if necessary, (157).

 (e)
 Remove the blanking cap from the electrical connector (158).

 (f)
 Make sure the electrical connector (158) is in the correct condition.
