R F. Check of the Clearances
R (Ref. Fig. 407/TASK 56-11-11-991-003)
R (1) Do a check of the clearances at the points given in the figure and
R make sure that:
R (a) The peripheral clearance J1 between the retainers and the window
R panel and between the window panel and the frame is 0 mm (0.0000
R in.) to 2.0 mm (0.0787 in.).
R (b) The out-of-flush dimension J2 between the window panel and the
R retainers is:
R 1_ 0.7 -0.6 +0.6 mm (0.0275 -0.0236 +0.0236 in.) for all the
R windshields (not applicable to SPS windshields P/N STA320-1-7
R and STA320-2-7 and to PPG windshields P/N NP165311-5 and P/N
R 165311-6).
R 2_ 0.7 -0.1 +1.4 mm (0.0275 -0.0039 +0.0551 in.) for SPS
R windshields P/N STA320-1-7 and STA320-2-7 and PPG windshields
R P/N NP165311-5 and P/N 165311-6.
R 3_ 1.4 -0.3 +1.8 mm (0.0551 -0.0118 +0.0708 in.) for PILKINGTON
R windshields P/N 06282 to P/N 06283.
R (c) The out-of-flush dimension J3 between the window panel and the
R retainers and between the window panel and the frame is:
R 1_ 0.7 -0.4 +0.4 mm (0.0275 -0.0157 +0.0157 in.) for all the
R windshields (not applicable to SPS windshields P/N STA320-1-7
R and STA320-2-7 and to PPG windshields P/N NP165311-5 and P/N
R 165311-6).
R 2_ 0.7 -0.1 +1.6 mm (0.0275 -0.0039 +0.0629 in.) for SPS
R windshields P/N STA320-1-7 and STA320-2-7 and PPG windshields
R P/N NP165311-5 and P/N 165311-6.

R R R (d) The peripheral clearance J4 between the retainers and the frame and between the retainers is 1 -0.5 +1 mm (0.0393 -0.0196 +0.0393 in.).
R R (e) The peripheral clearance J5 between the window panel and the retainers is 7 -1.0 +1.0 mm (0.2755 -0.0393 +0.0393 in.).
R R (f) The out-of-flush dimension J6 between the retainers and the frame is 0 -0.9 +0.4 mm (0.0000 -0.0354 +0.0157 in.).

G. Sealant Application
WARNING : USE SOLVENTS/CLEANING AGENTS, SEALANTS AND OTHER SPECIAL_______ MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR. OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. DO NOT SMOKE. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
(1) Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-019) around the icing indicator base which touches the external surface of the retainer.
(2) Remove the remaining sealant in the intersection area between: - the frame structure and the lower retainer - the frame structure and the upper retainer - the front retainer and the upper and lower retainers.
(3) Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-016) or SEALANTS (Material No. 09-053) if necessary to fill the remaining spaces and make sure that the bead of sealant is continuous.
(4) Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-016) or SEALANTS (Material No. 09-053) in all the hex-head bolt spotfacings.
NOTE : For the sealant cure time, refer to the supplier technical____ data-sheet.
(5) Clean the external surfaces of the structure with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-003) to remove the remaining sealant from the structure.
Subtask 56-11-11-420-055
H. Installation of the Protection Plate
(Ref. Fig. 402/TASK 56-11-11-991-002)
(1)
Install the spray nozzles (Ref. TASK 30-45-44-400-001).
(2)
Put the protection plate (19) in position.
R (3) Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002) below the head of the R screws (20), (21) and (22).
(4)
Install the screws (20), (21) and (23) and tighten them.

J. Installation of the Components

(1)
Put the vertical lining panel in position on the windshield post (1).
