NOTE : Clearance D is only applicable for the glass sliding window

(a) Make sure that the out-of-flush clearance D between the retainer
(34) and the glass sliding window (31) is 0.5 +0.8 -1.9 mm (0.0196 +0.0314 -0.0748 in.).

Close the sliding window. Make sure that the window moves easily.
(5)
Make sure that the out-of-flush B between the sliding window and the frame is:
-
0 +0.4 -2.4 mm (0.0000 +0.0157 -0.0944 in.) at points 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 11 for the acrylic sliding window (LUCAS/ACT supplier, P/N NH...) and the glass sliding window (PPG supplier, P/N NP...).
-
0 +0.6 -2.0 mm (0.0000 +0.0236 -0.0787 in.) at points 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 11 for the glass sliding window (SPS supplier, P/N SPS...).
-
0 +0.4 -2.0 mm (0.0000 +0.0157 -0.0787 in.) at points 2, 4, 7, and
9.
NOTE : Make sure that the difference between the smallest and the
____ largest value at points 2, 4, 7 and 9 is not more than 0.3 mm (0.0118 in.).
(6) If the out-of-flush B is not correct, adjust as follows.
(a)
Release the lockwashers (52), (53), (54) and (55).
(b)
Remove the circlips (42), (45), (46) and (51).
(c)
Remove the nuts (41), (44), (47) and (50).
(d)
Remove the lockwashers (52), (53), (54) and (55) and discard them.
(e)
Install the new lockwasher (52) and new lockwasher (53)
(f)
Install the new lockwasher (54) and new lockwasher (55)
(g)
Install the nuts (41), (44), (47) and (50).
(h)
Turn the eccentrics (40), (43), (48) and (49) to get the
out-of-flush B.

(i)
TORQUE the nuts (41), (44), (47) and (50) to between 0.6 and 0.7 m.daN (53.09 and 61.94 lbf.in).
(j)
Safety the nuts (41), (44), (47) and (50) with the lockwashers (52), (53), (54) and (55).
(k) Install the circlips (42), (45), (46) and (51). Subtask 56-12-11-220-068
D. Adjustment of the Handle
(1) Check of the load necessary to operate the handle NOTE : The load on the handle is directly related to the out-of-flush

adjustment of the window.
(a)
Operate the sliding window. Measure the load on the handle perpendicularly with a dynamometer.
(b)
The load permitted on the handle is 20 +2 -3 daN (44.9617 +4.4961 -6.7442 lbf) . If the load is not in the tolerance, adjust the sliding window again.
NOTE : We recommend that you adjust the window to get a load on
____ the handle near the maximum limit.

E. Sealing Check
(1)
Close the sliding window
(2)
Apply water to the periphery of the sliding window from the outside of the aircraft
(3)
Wait ten minutes and make sure that there is no water leakage at level of the window frame.
(4)
If water goes into the cockpit, make sure that the adjustments are correct and that the seal is in the correct condition.
(5)
Dry if necessary.

A. Installation of the Sliding Window Lining

NOTE : The acrylic window panel (LUCAS/ACT supplier), the glass window
____ panel (PPG supplier) and the glass window (SPS supplier, P/N SPS...) are interchangeable. If you remove an acrylic window panel and you install a glass window panel (or if you remove a glass window panel and you install an acrylic window panel):
-the P/N of the sliding window assembly must show this change. Thus, before you install the sliding window lining, you must change the identification placard located on the window frame.
(1)
Lift the plate (17) and put the sliding window lining (16) in position.
(2)
Put the plate (17) in position, install the screws (12) and tighten them.
(3)
Install the screws (11) and tighten them.
