R  (1) The panels are held in the frame by a bolted retainer. 
R R  (2) The lower section of the sliding frame is equipped with a rack. This rack holds the window in its different positions when it is open.

 D. Anti-icing and Defogging System The windows are equipped with an anti-icing and defogging system. This system includes a heating element and two sensors. One sensor is used to regulate the temperature. The other one is in standby. The electrical connections are made by a connector installed on the panel.
 E. Opening/Closing Mechanism (Ref. Fig. 002) This mechanism includes an upper mechanism and a lower mechanism.
 (1) The upper mechanism includes: - a forward upper bellcrank which is equipped with a roller - an aft upper bellcrank which is equipped with a hook and a roller. The bellcranks pivot on the frame. The rollers are installed on eccentrics which are used to adjust the flushness. The hook engages on a locking pin which is fixed to the aircraft structure. - a connecting rod between the upper bellcranks.
 (2) The lower mechanism includes: - a forward lower bellcrank which is equipped with a hook and a bogie - an aft lower bellcrank which is equipped with a hook and a bogie. The bellcranks pivot on the frame. The bogies are installed on eccentrics which are used to adjust the flushness. The hooks engage on locking pins which are fixed to the aircraft structure. - a transversal guide roller installed on an eccentric located at the front of the window. This roller guides the transversal movement of the window. - a connecting rod between the two lower bellcranks - an operating lever equipped with an unlocking pushbutton - a spring attached between the aft bellcrank and the frame.

 3. Operation_________ (Ref. Fig. 003)
 A. Unlocking
 -the operating lever is unlocked by pushing the pushbutton on the lever
 -rotation of the lever towards the rear causes simultaneous rotation of the aft bellcranks through the connecting rods. This disengages the hooks from the locking pins which are fixed to the structure.
 B. Opening
 -when the window is unlocked, the transversal guide roller, located at the front, serves to disengage the window towards the inside of the aircraft.

the self-alignment of the bogies and the transversal guide roller in the longitudinal rail enable the window to move towards the rear

 -
the rack holds the window in its fully or partially open position.
