A. Preparation for Installation
WARNING : USE SOLVENTS/CLEANING AGENTS, SEALANTS AND OTHER SPECIAL
_______ MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR. OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. DO NOT SMOKE. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
(1)
Use a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004) to clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3)
Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4)
If necessary, install the applicable greaser in the applicable pin.
(5)
Lubricate the applicable greaser with COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-024) until the used grease comes out of the hole in the pin(s).
(6)
Remove all unwanted grease with a clean lint-free cloth or tissue.

B. Installation of the Slat-Track Vertical-Load Rollers
(1)
Installation of the bottom vertical-load rollers at tracks 1, 2, 5 and 8. (Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 57-41-33-991-001)
(a)
Apply a thin layer of COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-024) to the pin (124).
(b)
Install the roller (135) with the pin (124).
(c)
Install the washer (125) and the nut (134).
(d)
Safety the nut (134):
-
for track 1 positions, use the new cotter pin (126) and/or the new cotter pin (127)
-
for track 2 positions, use the new cotter pin (128) and/or the new cotter pin (129)
-
for track 5 positions, use the new cotter pin (130) and/or the new cotter pin (131)
-
for track 8 positions, use the new cotter pin (132) and/or the new cotter pin (133) .
(2)
Installation of the top vertical-load rollers of tracks 1, 2, 5 and
8.
(Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 57-41-33-991-001)
(a)
Apply a thin layer of COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-024) to the pin (137).
(b)
Install the roller (147) with the pin (137).
(c)
Make sure that:
-
the pin (137) is correctly engaged with the eccentric bush
-
the angled greaser points down and forward (tracks 5 and 8 aft positions only).
(d)
Install and tighten the nut (138).
(e)
Safety the nut (138):
-
for track 1 positions, use the new cotter pin (139) and/or the new cotter pin (140)
-
for track 2 positions, use the new cotter pin (141) and/or the new cotter pin (142)

for track 5 positions, use the new cotter pin (143) and/or the new cotter pin (144)

for track 8 positions, use the new cotter pin (145) and/or the new cotter pin (146).

Installation of the bottom vertical-load rollers at tracks 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11 and 12.
(a)
Apply a thin layer of COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-024) to the pin (92).
(b)
Install the roller (94) and the pin (92).
(c)
Install the washer (91) and the nut (74).
