A. Safety Precautions
(1)
Make sure that the safety barriers are in position.
(2)
Make sure the TOOL-ZERO LOCKING, FLAP SLAT CTL LEVER (98D27803500001) is correctly installed on the flap/slat control lever.
(3)
Make sure the warning notices are in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.

B. Get Access
(1)
Make sure the access platform is in position below the wing leading-edge, zone 521(621).
(2)
Make sure the leading-edge pressure-relief panel 521EB(621EB) has been removed (Ref. TASK 57-41-37-000-004).

A. Preparation for Installation
(1)
Use a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026) to clean the interfaces of:
-
the access panel (1)
-
the access panel assembly (2)
-
the front spar.
(2)
Examine for damage the interfaces of:
-
the access panel (1)
-
the access panel assembly (2)
-
the front spar skin.

B. Installation of the Access Panel(s)
(1)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and equipment before you install the access panel (1) and the access panel assembly (2).
(2)
Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-001) to the interfaces of:
-
the access panel (1)
-
the access panel assembly (2)
-
the front spar.
(3)
Put the access panel assembly (2) in position on the aft face of the front spar.
(4)
Put the access panel (1) in position on the forward face of the front spar.
(5)
Install and tighten the bolts (3).

B. Installation of the Access Panel(s)
(1)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and equipment before you install the access panel (1) and the access panel assembly (2).
(2)
Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-018) to the interfaces of:

the access panel (1)
-
the access panel assembly (2)
-
the front spar.
(3)
Put the access panel assembly (2) in position on the aft face of the front spar.
(4)
Put the access panel (1) in position on the forward face of the front spar.
(5) Install and tighten the bolts (3).

(1) Install the applicable leading-edge pressure-relief panel 521EB(621EB) (Ref. TASK 57-41-37-400-002).
