A. Preparation for Installation
(1)
Use a plastic spatula to remove used sealant from the wing-tip (10).
(2)
Use a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026) to clean the wing-tip (10).
(3)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(4)
If necessary, install the barrel nuts (1) and (2) as follows:
(a)
Use a non-metallic tool to remove sealant from the holes for the barrel nuts (1) and (2).
(b)
Use a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026) to clean the holes for the barrel nuts (1) and (2).
(c)
Apply a layer of SEALANTS (Material No. 09-005) to the barrel nuts (1) and (2).
(d)
Install the barrel nuts (1) and (2) into the holes, with the slot at the bottom. Align the holes for the bolts (5).

R B. Installation of the Wing-tip Fence
(1) Put the wing-tip fence (3) in position on the wing-tip (10) and hold it on supports.
(2) Apply a layer of SEALANTS (Material No. 09-005) to the bolts (5).
(3) Install the washers (4) and the bolts (5).
(4) TORQUE the bolts (5) to between 2.7 and 3.3 m.daN (19.91 and 24.33 lbf.ft).
R R R (5) Apply BONDING AND ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS (Material No. 08-002A) or BONDING AND ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS (Material No. 08-058) to the wing-tip fence, where the locking plates (6) and (9) attach.
(6) Install the locking plates (6) and (9). If necessary, adjust the TORQUE of the bolts (5) (in the permitted range), to align the bolts (5) with the locking plates (6) and (9).
(7) Measure the clearances at the top and bottom interfaces of the wing-tip (10) and the wing-tip fence (3): - dimension X (forward of STA WTY 315.0 and aft of STA WTY 799.0) must be between 1.7 mm (0.07 in.) and 2 mm (0.08 in.) over the areas of the filler blocks - dimension Y (between STA WTY 315.0 and STA WTY 799.0) must be smaller than 1 mm (0.04 in.).
(8) Apply BONDING AND ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS (Material No. 08-048) to the bolts (8).
R (9) Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-016) along the interface of wing-tip (10) and the wing-tip fence (3), to make a smooth continuous joint.
(10) Install the covers (7) and the bolts (8).
5. Close-up________

A. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 1LA, 2LA, 10LV.

B. Removal of Equipment
(1)
Remove the safety barriers.
(2)
Remove the TOOL-ZERO LOCKING, FLAP SLAT CTL LEVER (98D27803500001) from the flap/slat control lever.
(3)
Remove the warning notice(s).
(4)
Remove the access platform(s).
(5)
Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(6)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
