 Apply LUBRICANTS (Material No. 06-008) to the thread of the new locknut (1) and the mating surfaces of the locknut (1) and the new lockwasher (2).

 Loosely install the lockwasher (2) and the locknut (1).

 Put the locking device (3) in position on the spherical bearing (8).

 (7)
 If necessary, adjust the position of the spherical bearing (8) so that the locking device (3) engages correctly.

 Install the tab-washer (4), the spherical bush (5), the washer (6) and the bolt (7).

 (9)
 TORQUE the bolt (7) to between 1.2 and 1.4 m.daN (106.19 and 123.89 lbf.in).

 (10)
 Safety the bolt (7) to the locking device (3) with MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-010)

 Use the WRENCH - BEARING, FLAP TO CARRIAGE TRACK 2 (98D27507541000) to torque the locknut (1) to between 8.0 and 10.0 m.daN (58.99 and

 73.74 lbf.ft).

 Safety the locknut (1) with the lockwasher (2).

 (13)
 Do a no-load Breakaway Torque of the spherical bearing (8) to 0.75 m.daN (66.37 lbf.in) maximum.

 Apply a bead of SEALANTS (Material No. 09-016) to the interface of the spherical bearing (8) , the locknut (1) and the structure (9).

 (15)
 Apply red STRUCTURE PAINTS (Material No. 16-016), as shown, to the spherical bearing (8).

R  B. Installation of the Flap Attachment Bearing 
R  (1) For Track 3, do the steps that follow: 
R  (a) Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002) to the external 
R  surface of the new spherical bearing (4) and the flap structure 
R  (5). 
R  (b) Make sure that the SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002) does 
R  not touch the internal surfaces of the spherical bearing (4). 
R  (c) Install the spherical bearing (4) in the flap structure (5). 
R  (d) Apply LUBRICANTS (Material No. 06-008) to the thread of the new 
R  locknut (6) and the mating surfaces of the locknut (6) and the 
R  new lockwasher (7). 
R  (e) Loosely install the lockwasher (7) and the locknut (6). 
R  (f) Put the locking device (3) in position on the spherical bearing 
R  (4). If necessary, adjust the position of the spherical bearing 
R  (4) so that the locking device (3) engages correctly. 
R  (g) Install the new tab-washer (2) on the screw (1). 
R  (h) Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002) to the threads of 
R  the screw (1). 
R  (i) Install the screw (1). 
R  (j) TORQUE the screw (1) to between 1.6 and 1.8 m.daN (11.79 and 
R  13.27 lbf.ft). 
R  (k) Use the WRENCH - BEARING, FLAP TO CARRIAGE TRACK 2 
R  (98D27507541000) to torque the locknut (6) to between 10.0 and 
R  12.0 m.daN (73.74 and 88.49 lbf.ft). 
R  (l) Safety the locknut (6) with the lockwasher (7). 
R  (m) Do a no-load Breakaway Torque of the spherical bearing (4) to 
R  0.75 m.daN (66.37 lbf.in) maximum.

R  (n) Apply a bead of SEALANTS (Material No. 09-002) around the locknut 
R  (6). 
R  (o) Apply STRUCTURE PAINTS (Material No. 16-003) to the bead seal 
R  around the locknut (6). 
R  (p) Apply red STRUCTURE PAINTS (Material No. 16-016), as shown, to 
R  the spherical bearing (4). 
R  (2) For Track 4, do the steps that follow: 
R  (a) Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002) to the external 
R  surface of the new spherical bearing (11) and the flap structure 
R  (8). 
R  (b) Make sure that the SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002) does 
R  not touch the internal surfaces of the spherical bearing (11). 
R  (c) Install the spherical bearing (11) in the flap structure (8).
