R (4) Remove the nut (49) and the washer (48). Remove the bolt (47)
R sufficiently so that you can install the correct quantity of shims
R (51).

R (5) Install the shims (51) then fully install the bolt (47), the washer
R (48) and the nut (49).

R (6) TORQUE the nut (49) to between 1.7 and 1.8 m.daN (12.53 and 13.27
R lbf.ft).

R (7) Examine the related positions of the hole in the bolt (47) and the
R slot in the nut (49).

R (8) TORQUE the nut (49), until the next slot aligns with the hole, to 2.8
R m.daN (20.64 lbf.ft) maximum.

R (9) Safety the nut (49) with a new cotter pin (50).

R  (10) Move the fairing (up and down) to make sure that the sidestay (46) is 
R  free to turn. 
R  (11) Apply a thin layer of SEALANTS (Material No. 09-018) or SEALANTS 
R  (Material No. 09-019) to the interfaces of the bush (42) and the bolt 
R  (41), but not to the threads. 
R  (12) Align the control rod (45) with the flap drive arm and install the 
R  bolt (41), the bush (42) and the nut (43). 
R  (13) Safety the nut (43) with a new cotter pin (44). 
R  (14) Measure the dimension 'B', this must be 11 mm (0.4330 in.). 
R  (15) Temporarily install the top cover (10) with some of the screws (11). 
R  (16) Measure the dimension 'G', this must between 3 mm (0.12 in.) and 1 mm 
R  (0.04 in.). 
R  (17) If you installed a new movable fairing and the dimension(s) 'G' is 
R  not correct, do the steps that follow: 
R  (a) Remove the screws (11) and the top cover (10). 
R  (b) Remove the nut (22) the bolt (21) and disconnect the lower 
R  bonding strip (20) from the rod P-clip. 
R  (c) If necessary, remove and discard the lockwire from the locknuts 
R  on the rod (45). 
R  (d) Loosen the locknuts sufficiently to let you turn the rod body. 
R  (e) Turn the rod body clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust the rod 
R  length. 
R  (f) Temporarily install the top cover (10) with some of the screws 
R  (11). 
R  (g) Measure the dimension 'G' again. 
R  (h) Remove the screws (11) and the top cover (10). 
R  (i) Safety the locknuts on the rod assembly to the tabwashers with 
R  MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-010).

R  (j) Install the bonding strip (24) on the P-clip with the bolt (23) 
R  and the nut (25) (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-004). 
R  (k) Install the bonding strip (20) on the P-clip with the bolt (21) 
R  and the nut (22) (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-004).
