Do the installation test for the serial number identification unit:

 (a)  
Get access to the APU maintenance page. To get access to it, do this task: Obtain Airplane System Information (AMM 31-61-00/201).

 (b)  
Look at the SERIAL NO. display.

 (c)  
Make sure the correct serial number for the APU shows on the APU maintenance page.

 NOTE: You can find the serial number for the APU on the engine
____ reference data plate. The location of the engine reference data plate is at the left side of the APU load gearbox and below the left APU mount bracket.
 F.  Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition
 S 412-035
 (1)  
Close the left APU access door, 317AL, and right APU access door, 318AR:

 (a)  
Remove the two quick-release pins, disconnect the two hold-open rods and put the two hold-open rods in the two clips on the right access door.

 (b)  
Install the two quick-release pins in the two brackets on the right APU compartment bulkhead.

 (c)  
Lift the right access door until you can install the lanyard on the pin at the aft APU compartment bulkhead.

 NOTE: The lanyard will hold the right access door on the APU
____
 compartment bulkhead.

 (d)  Remove the two quick-release pins, disconnect the two hold-open rods and put the two hold-open rods in the two clips on the left access door.

 (e)  
Install the two quick-release pins in the two brackets on the left APU compartment bulkhead.

 (f)  
Make sure the insulation covers are correctly attach to the APU compartment firewall.

 (g)  
Lift the left access door until the two APU access doors are approximately aligned.

 (h)  
Close the two APU access doors.

 (i)  
Close the six latches on the right access door.

 4. Serial Number Identification Unit Calibration (Fig. 202)

 A. Procedure
 S 022-038
 (1)  
If the serial number identification unit is installed on the APU, do this task: Serial Number Identification Unit Removal (Par. 2).

 (2)  
Remove the two screws (6) and cover (7) from the back of the serial number identification unit (5).

 S 022-039

 (3)  
Remove the gasket (8) from the serial number identification unit (5).

 S 822-040

 (4)  
Do these steps to calibrate the serial number identification unit:

 (a)  
Identify the SERIAL NO. on the engine reference data plate.

 NOTE: The location of the engine reference data plate is at
____ the left side of the APU load gearbox and below the left APU mount bracket.
 (b)  Find the last three numbers (digits) in the SERIAL NUMBER LAST 3 DIGITS column on sheet 1 that agrees with the SERIAL NO. on the engine reference data plate.
 NOTE: Sheet 1 identifies which jumper(s) to cut if the SERIAL
____ NO. is in this specified range. The jumper(s) that you can cut are W1, W2, W3, W4 and/or W5.
