 C. Procedure
 S 434-023
 (1)  
Install the acoustic lining and the inner exhaust duct in the outer exhaust duct (6):

 (a)  
Put the inner exhaust duct and the acoustic lining in the outer exhaust duct (6).

 (b)  
Install the bolts (1), the washers (3 and 5), the bushings (2), and the nuts (4) that attach the inner duct to the outer duct. 1) Tighten the nuts (4) to 360-440 pound-inches (40.7-49.7

 N.m).

 (2)  
Install the outer exhaust duct (6):

 (a)  
Put the exhaust duct assembly in its position in the fuselage.

 (b)  
Connect the outer exhaust duct (6) to the APU: 1) Connect the outer exhaust duct (6) to the APU with the V-band clamp (8). 2) Lightly hit the outer edge of the clamp (8) with a mallet

 made of rubber or leather to engage the clamp. 3) Tighten the clamp (8) to 45-55 pound-inches (5.1-6.2 N.m). 4) Do the above two steps again until the clamp (8) nut stays
 tightened at the specified torque value.
 (c)  Connect the drain line (7) to the outer exhaust duct (6).

 (3)  
Close the APU access doors:

 (a)  
Do a visual check of the EGT bus bars: 1) Make sure the bus bars are not damaged. 2) Make sure no metal parts touch the bus bars. 3) Make sure the bus bars do not touch each other.

 (b)  
Disengage the support rods for the APU access doors.

 (c)  
Put the support rods in the clips on the inner side of the APU access doors.

 (d)  
Make sure the insulation covers correctly attach to the APU compartment firewall.

 (e)  
Close the APU access doors.

 (f)  
Close the latches on the APU access doors.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

 (a)  
P83 Panel, E8 Aft Equipment Center
 1) APU PRIMARY CONT

 (b)  
P6 Main Power Supply Panel
 1) 6K18 APU ALTN CONT

 S 864-020
 (5)  Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU control switch on the P5 panel.

 (1)
Remove the outer exhaust duct for the APU (Ref 49-81-01/401).

 (2)  
Examine the exhaust duct nozzle for cracks.

 (a)  
Axial cracks that start at the aft end of the exhaust duct nozzle are permitted if they do not come together.

 (b)  
Axial cracks that come together are not permitted.
