Install the oil pump (20):
(a)
Make sure the oil pump (20) shaft turns freely.
(b)
Install the oil tansfer tubes (39 and 40) in the load gearbox (27).
(c)
Put the oil pump (20) in its position in the accessory gearbox (32).
(d)
Install the six new keywashers (38) and the bolts (37) that attach the oil pump (20) to the accessory gearbox (32). 1) Tighten the bolts (37) to 24-36 pound-inches (2.8-4.0 N.m). 2) Bend the tabs on the keywashers (38).

Install and connect the tubes to the oil pump (20).
(a)
Install the oil transfer tubes (39 and 40) in the oil pump (20).
(b)
Install the retainer plate (29) with the washers (30) and nuts (31). 1) Tighten the nuts (31) to 32-36 pound-inches (3.6-4.0 N.m).
(c)
Install the pressure valve tube (2) and the pressure pump tube (22) in the oil pump (20).
(d)
Use the snap ring pliers to move the retainer rings (3 and 23) into their positions.
(e)
Lubricate the packing (42) with the oil.
(f)
Install the packing (42) on the reducer (45).
(g)
Install the reducer (45) in the accessory gearbox (32).
1) Tighten the reducer (45) to 65-75 pound-inches (7.5-8.5 N.m).
(h)
Connect the starter drain tube (43) to the reducer (45).
(i)
Tighten the coupling nut (44) to 270-300 pound-inches (31-34 newton-meters).
(j)
Connect the drain tube (24) to the drain valve on the gas generator housing.
(k)
Connect the drain tube (24) to the nipple on the drain tube bracket.
(l)
Tighten the coupling nuts (25 and 26) to 270-300 pound-inches (31-34 newton-meters).
(m)
Lubricate the packings (9 and 11) with the oil.
(n)
Install the packings (9 and 11) on the oil tube (10).

(o) (p) (q) (r) (s) Install the oil tube (10) in the oil pump (20).Lubricate the packing (7) with the oil.Install the packing (7) on the oil scavenge tube (6).Install the oil scavenge tube (6) on the oil pump (20) with the nuts (8). 1) Tighten the nuts (8) to 32-36 pound-inches (3.6-4.0 N.m).Install the scavenge tube (12) on the oil pump (20): 1) Lubricate the packing (19) with oil. 2) Install the packing (19) on the scavenge tube (12). 3) Put the scavenge tube (12) in its position on the oil pump (20). 4) Install the washers (18), the brackets (15 and 17), and the nuts (13).
NOTE:____ The washers are installed between the brackets and the scavenge tube.
a) Tighten the nuts (13) to 36-40 pound-inches (4.0-4.6 N.m).

(6) Connect the other drain tubes that you disconnected to remove the oil pump if it is necessary.

(7) Fill the APU oil tank (Ref 12-22-02/301).

(8) Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU control switch on the P5 panel.

(9) Examine the APU for oil leaks. (a) Operate the APU at a no-load, controlled speed for 10 minutes (Ref 49-11-00/201). (b) During the operation of the APU, examine the engine for oil leaks.
