 C.  
Prepare for the Inspection

 S 016-009
 (1)  
Open the left APU access door, 317AL, and right APU access door, 318AR:

 (a)  
While you hold the two APU access doors in the closed position, open the six latches on the right access door.

 NOTE: The left access door will open fully and the right
____ access door will drop approximately one inch (2.5 cm) from the fuselage frame when the last latch is opened.
 NOTE: A lanyard is attached to the aft end of the right access
____ door to hold the access door to the APU compartment bulkhead.
 CAUTION: BE CAREFUL NOT TO MOVE THE TWO APU ACCESS DOORS TO THE
_______ OUTBOARD SIDE FROM THE FULL OPEN POSITION. THE FULL OPEN POSITION IS WHERE THE APU ACCESS DOOR IS DOWN AND THE TWO HOLD-OPEN RODS ARE CONNECTED TO THE TWO BRACKETS ON THE APU COMPARTMENT BULKHEAD. DAMAGE TO THE ELEVATOR CONTROL SURFACES CAN OCCUR.
 (b)  
Open the left access door to the fully open position and remove the two hold-open rods from the two clips.

 (c)  
Remove the two quick-release pins from the two brackets on the left APU compartment bulkhead.

 (d)  
Connect the two hold-open rods from the left access door to the two brackets and install the two quick-release pins.

 (e)  
Push the right access door up and remove the lanyard from the pin on the aft APU compartment bulkhead.

 (f)  
Open the right access door to the fully open position and remove the two hold-open rods from the two clips.

 (g)  
Remove the two quick-release pins from the two brackets on the right APU compartment bulkhead.

 (h)  
Connect the two hold-open rods from the right access door to the two brackets and install the two quick-release pins.

 D.  
Oil Filter Differential Pressure Indicator Inspection

 S 216-001
 (1)  
Do these steps to inspect the oil filter differential pressure indicator:

 (a)  
Visually examine the pop-up button on the oil filter differential pressure indicator.

 (b)  
If the pop-up button has extended (ON position), replace the oil filter element (AMM 49-27-03/401).

 NOTE: The oil filter element is clogged when the pop-up button
____ is extended (ON position). The internal pressure across the differential pressure indicator is between 25 and 31 psid and the oil temperature is 142°F (61°C).
 1)  Push the pop-up button into the differential pressure indicator until the button stays in the retracted (OFF) position.
 (c) If the pop-up button has not extended, the oil filter differential pressure indicator is satisfactory.
 NOTE: The oil filter element is not clogged.

 E.  Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition
 S 416-010
 (1)  
Close the left APU access door, 317AL, and right APU access door, 318AR:

 (a)  
Remove the two quick-release pins, disconnect the two hold-open rods and put the two hold-open rods in the two clips on the right access door.

 (b)  
Install the two quick-release pins in the two brackets on the right APU compartment bulkhead.

 (c)  
Lift the right access door until you can install the lanyard on the pin at the aft APU compartment bulkhead.

 NOTE: The lanyard will hold the right access door on the APU
____
 compartment bulkhead.
