If a tire has been moved flat, or has been moved at 30% or more below the specified preasure, remove the two tires and the wheels on that axle.

If the pressure drop occurred after the airplane was parked and the airplane was not moved, remove the tire with the low pressure.

 (a)  
A drop in tire pressure can be caused by the conditions that follow: 1) Decrease in ambient temperature after you fill the tire 2) A dry or defective O-ring seal between the wheel halves 3) Leaks through the defective thermal plug seals 4) Leaks at the tirebead seat 5) Leaks through the vent holes in the tire sidewall.

Examine the Tires

 CAUTION: TIRES MADE BY DIFFERENT TIRE MANUFACTURERS MAY CONTAIN

 DIFFERENT NUMBER OF THREAD REINFORCEMENT.

 (1)  Examine the tires for the wear and damage conditions shown in Fig. 602 and replace the tires that exceed the limits.
 NOTE: Refer to Fig. 601 for tire nomenclature and tire
____
 construction details.

 (a)  Examine the tires for air leaks, abrasions, unusual worn areas, cuts, and flat spots (See Fig. 602 for damage limits).

 (2)  
Remove the tires if they show the conditions that follow:

 (a)  
Cuts or weather cracks in the grooves, tread, shoulders or sidewalls that exceed the limits shown in Figure 602.

 (b)  
Blisters, bulges or other signs of ply separation in the tread, shoulder or the sidewall area.

 (c)  
Any tire with a flat spot which shows the tread reinforcement ply (bias) or cut protector (radial).

 (d)  
Other damage or mixture of conditions which can cause tire problems.

 (3)  
Examine the tires for worn areas.

 (a)  
Measure the tread depth of the tire tread groove at three points that are equally spaced apart.

 (b)  
If the average tread depth on any groove of the tire is 1/32 inch (0.79 mm) or less, the tire must be replaced at the next convenient maintenance opportunity.

 (c)  
If the tread belt ply (radial) or carcass ply (bias) shows at any location, the tire is not servicable and must be replaced.

 (d)  
If the tread is worn so that the cut protector (radial) or tread reinforcement ply (bias) shows at any location, the tire must be replaced at the next convenient maintenance opportunity.

 NOTE: If the cut protector (radial) or tread reinforcement ply
____ (bias) shows, the tire may be used without safety concerns. However, you may not be able to re-tread the tire if you leave the tire in service too long with this condition.
