Rigging Pin - 0.311 +0.000/-0.002 inch diameter X 6.0 inches long

 NOTE: Rigging pin is part of F70207-69 or F70207-78.

Torque Wrench - 0 to 200 inch-pounds

Prepare for the Installation

 S 434-053
 (1)  
Put caps on the valve fitting (17).

 S 614-052

 (2)
Fill the steering metering valve (4) with hydraulic fluid.

Install new O-rings (7) and backup rings (8) on each of the ferrules (6) between the steering metering valve (4) and the steering cylinder (10).

Loosen the swivel jamnut (33) for the steering metering valve (4).

Make sure the aft end of the bracket assembly (31) is still turned to the left side.

Make sure you remove any excess hydraulic fluid inside the trunnion of the steering cylinder (10).

Steering Metering Valve Installation

 S 424-042
 (1)  
Install the steering metering valve (4):

 (a)  
Put the steering metering valve (4) in its position, such that it can be installed on the upper support plate (13).

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT ROTATE THE SWIVELS TO 180 DEGREES. THE FERRULES (6) WILL NOT ALIGN WITH THE PORTS IN THE STEERING CYLINDER TRUNNION. DAMAGE TO THE FERRULES CAN OCCUR IF YOU ATTEMPT THE INSTALLATION OF THE STEERING METERING VALVE.
 (b)  Align the ports of the steering metering valve (4) with the ports in trunnion of the steering cylinder (10).
 NOTE: The ferrule (6) installed in the swivels of the
____ steering metering valve are offset from the center line of the swivel.
 (c)  
Install the attach bolt (2) to hold the steering metering valve (4) to the upper support plate (13).

 (d)  
Use retainer nut wrench C32043 and tighten the retainer nut (5) to 50 - 100 pound-inches.

 (e)  
Install lockwire to the retainer nut (5) and the upper trunnion of the steering cylinder (10).

 (f)  
Tighten the swivel bolt (34) to 30 - 40 inch-pounds.

 (g)  
Tighten the swivel jamnut (33) to the swivel bolt (34) by hand.

 NOTE: It is normal to have a clearance between the swivel and
____ the valve body when you install the metering valve.
 (h)  Install lockwires to the swivel jamnut (33) and the swivel bolt (34).

 (2)  
Install the bracket attach bolt (12) to hold the support bracket (16A, 16B) to the upper support plate (13).

 (3)  
Tighten the bracket assembly (31):

 (a)  
Align the aft bolt holes of the bracket assembly (31) with the bolt holes in the upper support plate (13).

 (b)  
Install the AFT bolt (30) to hold the aft end of the bracket assembly (31).

 (c)  
Tighten the FWD bolt (30) for the bracket assembly (31).

 (4)  
Install the rig pin 4 in the crank of the steering metering valve.
