 (b)  AIRPLANES WITHOUT SPLICES; Do these steps to disconnect the sensor wiring from the airplane.
 NOTE: If you do not want to disconnect the connector, you can
____ cut the sensor wiring 4 to 12 inches past the conduit end. You will then use splices to connect the new sensor.
 1) Remove the sensor electrical connector found on the wheel well ceiling. 2) Make a note of the pin locations and the lead wire colors
 for the new sensor installation. 3) Remove the sensor pins from the connector. 4) Make a note of the ground point location. 5) Remove the third wire (yellow) from the ground point.
 (c)  Attach a pull-line to the electrical leads.
 NOTE: The pull-line will help you pull the wires for the new
____ sensor through the flexible conduit during installation. Make sure the line is longer than the length of the flexible conduit. You can attach something to the free end of the pull-line to stop the line at the end of the conduit.

Remove the mounting bolt to remove the sensor cover and the sensor from the mounting bracket.

Carefully pull the sensor wires out of the flexible conduit.

 NOTE: Do not pull the free end of the pull-line out of the conduit.

Disconnect the pull-line from the sensor wires.

 (4)  
Remove the sensor from the airplane.

Procedure (Fig. 401)

 (1)  
Do these steps to put the sensor wires through the flexible conduit:

 (a)  
Twist the sensor leads together.

 (b)  
Attach the pull-line that you used for the removal of the sensor to the sensor leads.

 (c)  
Carefully pull the sensor wires through the flexible conduit with the pull-line.

 (2)  
Put the sensor and the sensor cover in position on the mounting bracket.

 (a)  
Install the mounting bolts, but do not tighten them at this time.

Adjust the sensor on the mounting bracket until you have the clearance shown on Fig. 401.

Tighten the mounting bolts.

Do these steps to connect the sensor wires:

 (a)  
Put the twisted sensor leads through the clamps for the wire bundles. 1) Tighten the clamps and attach the sensor wires to the wire

 bundles with straps as it is necessary.

 (b)  
If the sensor wires are too long, cut the wires to the correct length.

 (c)  
If you will use splices to connect the sensor leads to the airplane, then connect the the sensor leads to the airplane wiring with splices. (SWPM 20-30-12)

 (d)  
If you removed the sensor leads at the connector, then do these steps: 1) Replace the pins on the sensor lead ends. 2) Install the lead pins in the electrical connector.

 a) Make sure that you installed the pins in the correct
 location. 3) Connect the third wire (yellow) at the ground point. 4) Connect the electrical connector.

 (5)  Make sure the control lever for the landing gear is in the DN position.
