Prepare for the Installation

 S 224-020
 (1)  
Examine the attached points for the permitted worn areas (Ref 32-11-16/201).

Procedure

 S 434-021
 (1)
Attach the bearings and the housings (3 and 8) to the support (2).

 S 434-022

 (2)
Put the bolt (9) through the lugs of the walking beam support (2).

 S 624-023

 (3)  
Apply the sealant to the inner surface of all the bolt holes.

 S 624-024

 (4)  
Apply the sealant to all the bolt surfaces and the threads.

 S 424-025

 (5)  
Immediately install the bearing housings (3 and 8) and the
 support (2):

 (a)  
Apply the seal between the bearing housings (3 and 8) and the structure on the forward and aft ends of the support (2).

 (b)  
Put the forward end of the support (2) with the bearing housing

 (3)
 attached in its position.

 (c)  
Lift the support (2) up as far as it is possible.

 (d)  
Move the support (2) into its position with the bearing housing

 (8)
 aligned with the holes in the structure.

 (e)  
Put the shims (4 and 7) between the bearing housings (3 and 8) and the inboard structure to give a maximum clearance 0.003 inch.

 (f)  
While the sealant is still wet, install the bolts (1, 5, and 6) to attach the bearing housings (3 and 8) to the structure.

 NOTE: Tighten the bolts to these torque values:
____ Bolt (6) 870-1300 pound-inches Bolt (1) and (5) 300-500 pound-inches.

 (g)  
Do not remove the sealant from the bolt heads.

 (h)  
Put the sealant on the bolt heads and the nuts.

 (i)  
Put the sealant around all the edges of the forward and the aft bearing housings to the structure.

Install the tie-rod for the trailing edge.

 (7)  
Install the head end of the actuator through the bolt (Ref
 32-32-01/401).

 S 434-028

 (8)  
Install the walking beams on each side of the actuator (Ref
 32-11-15/401).

 F.
Put the airplane back to its usual condition.

 (1)  
Lubricate the bolt (9) with the grease (Ref 12-21-01/301).

Attach the access panel of the trailing edge in its position (571AB LH and 671AB RH) (Ref 06-09-08/201).

Install the top wing panel above the landing gear beam.

 (4)  
Install the cover panel of the trailing edge or the flap track fairing.

 WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO REMOVE THE
_______ DOOR LOCKS FROM THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (5)  
Do this task: "Removal of the Door Locks on the Wing Landing Gear" (Ref 32-00-30/201).

 S 094-038

 (6)  
Do this task: "Removal of the Door Locks on the Body Landing Gear" (Ref 32-00-30/201).
