 (c)  Do this task to temporarily install the outboard trailing edge flap: "Outboard Trailing Edge Flap Installation" (AMM 27-51-34/401).
 NOTE: It is not necessary to use the corrosion preventive
____ compound or the wet primer to temporarily install the flap. Do not adjust the aftflap.
 (d)  Find the correct shim thickness: 1) Make sure the flaps are in the fully retracted position. 2) Put the outboard flap rigging beam on the black stripes on
 the front and rear spars.
 NOTE: If the black stripes are not on the airplane,
____ make 0.25 inch stripes (Refer to tool drawing F80209).
 3)  Apply a 30 pound force up against a 4.0 x 6.0 inch minimum aluminum plate at the aft edge of the aftflap near the rigging beam.
 4)  Make sure the aftflap flight rollers touch the flap track.

 5)  Move the flap track to get the correct distance between the trailing edge of the aftflap and the wing chord plane (WCP). a) If you will install a new or overhauled flap,
 the trailing edge of the aftflap must be 0.00 to 0.25 inch below the WCP.
 b)  If you will install the same flap, the distance must be the same as you measured before you removed the flap. Use a tolerance of | 0.12 inch on the dimension.
 6) Hold the flap track and remove the bolts that attach the flap track to the aft support fitting. 7) Put the tapered shim between the wing and the flap track and turn it to fill the clearance. 8) Make a mark on the tapered shim of the location of the bolt
 holes and remove the shim. 9) Remove the outboard flap rigging beam. 10) Temporarily install the bolts that attach the flap track to
 the aft support fitting. 11) Cut the tapered shim to the correct dimension and drill the bolt holes.
 (e)  
Do this task: "Outboard Trailing Edge Flap Removal" (AMM 27-51-34/401).

 (f)  
Remove the nuts, bolts, bushings, and spacers from the aft support fitting.

 (g)  
Use the sealant to bond the tapered shim to the top surface of the flap track.

 NOTE: Install the flap track before the work life of the
____
 sealant is expired.

 F.  Install the Outboard Flap Track
 S 424-009
 (1)
Attach the flap track to the forward support fitting (Fig. 401):

 (a)  
Make sure there is one bushing in each forward lug of the flap track. Make sure there are two bushings in the forward support fitting.

 (b)  
Install the spacer in the forward support fitting.

 (c)  
Align the flap track with the forward attach fitting.

 (d)  
Apply a layer of the sealant to the bolt.

 (e)  
Install the bolt with a countersunk washer.

 (f)  
Install the washer and the nut.

 (g)  
BEJ 101-999; Tighten the nuts on the inboard and outboard flap tracks to 220-280 pound-inches.

 (h)  
BEJ 061-062; Tighten the nuts: 1) On the inboard track, tighten the nut to 270-300

 pound-inches.

 2)  On the outboard track, tighten the nut to 350-600 pound-inches.
 (i)  Install the cotter pin.

 (2)  
Attach the flap track to the aft support fitting:

 (a)  
Make sure that the three bushings are installed in the aft support fitting. 1) If the bushings are not installed, install the bushings

 with the wet primer.

 (b)  
Lift the flap track to align with the holes in the aft support fitting.

 NOTE: Make sure the lower bushing on the outboard bolt does
____ not extend above the skin into the flap track fitting.
