aileron control quadrant [47];
1) Remove and keep the nuts [51], washers [49], and bolts [48].
(b) Make sure the spherical race of the bearing housing [54] does not bind in the outer
housing.
(c) Make sure the maximum torque to turn the bearing housing [54] around the shaft is 3-5
pound-inches (0.3-0.6 newton-meters).
(d) Apply a fillet seal between the bearing housing [54] and the pressure deck with sealant,
A00247. To apply fillet seal, do this task: Fillet Seal Application, TASK 51-31-00-390-804.
(e) Put the centering unit [11] in position with the shaft through the pressure deck.
(f) Install the bolts [52], washers [53], washers [55] and nuts [56].
1) Tighten the nuts [56] to 20-25 pound-inches (2.3-2.8 newton-meters).
(g) Install the aileron control quadrant [47] on the shaft:
1) If it is necessary, apply sealant, A00247 on the disk of the aileron control quadrant;
2) Engage the aileron control quadrant [47] on the shaft;
a) Make sure the tip of the aileron control quadrant [47] points in the outboard
direction;
3) Install the bolts [48], washers [49], washers [50], and nuts [51];
(h) Attach the reaction support assemblies [30] to the structure;
1) Install the bolts [14], washers [13], bushings [28], washers [31], washers [17] and nuts
[16].
a) Install the washers [31] between the lug and the clevis.
NOTE: There must be a minimum of one washer [31] on each side of the lug.
2) Install the bolt [14], washer [13], bushing [12], washers [18], washer [17] and nut [16].
a) Install the washers [18] between the link and the lower surface of the lug.
(i) Connect the pogos [22] to the centering unit [11] with the bolts [19], washers [20], bushings
[21], washers [23], nuts [24] and new pin [25].
1) Make sure to install the bolts [19] and bushings [21] with the head up.
(j) Make sure the top and bottom pogos [22] on each power control unit is at the center
between the stops.
1) If it is necessary to adjust the pogos [22], do this task: Pogo and Power Control Unit
(PCU) Adjustment, TASK 27-11-00-820-802.
(k) Connect the autopilot actuator rod [43] with the bolt [45], washer [44], washer [42] and nut
[41].
(l) Connect the aileron position sensor rod [38] with bolt [46], washer [39] and nut [40].
(m) Connect the reaction links [29] to the reaction support assemblies [30];

1) Install the bolt assemblies [27], washers [35], bushings [36], washers [37], and nuts
[34].
2) Tighten the nuts [34] to to 300-350 pound-inches (33.9-39.5 newton-meters).
3) Install the washers [33], nuts [61] and new pin [32].

(2) Connect the cable AA [2] and cable AB [1] to the aileron control quadrant [47].
(a) Remove the identification tags from the cable AA [2] and cable AB [1].
(b) Remove the clamps from the cable AA [2] and cable AB [1].
(c) Install the retaining plates [60] with bolts [57], washers [58], and nuts [59].

(3) Connect the cable AA [2] and cable AB [2] to the turnbuckles.
(a) Tighten the turnbuckles but keep the cable tension at zero.
