tab mast fittings are visible.
NOTE: This can also be done in the balanced mode with the trailing edge down.

ELEVATOR AND ELEVATOR TRIM CONTROL SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST
1. General
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1) Operational Test - Elevator and Elevator Trim Control System - Use this task to do a quick check
of the elevator control system.
(2) Operational Test - Elevator Tab Control System - Use this task to do a quick check of the elevator
tab control system.
(3) Operational Test - Elevator Control Column Override - Use this task to do a quick check of the
control column override assembly.
(4) Functional Test - Elevator Control Column Override - Use this task to do a functional check of the
control column override assembly.
(5) Elevator Control Cables EA and EB and Pitch Force Transducers Adjustment - Use this task to
adjust the elevator control cable and pitch force transducers.
(6) Elevator Control Pushrods Adjustment - Use this task to adjust the control pushrods which
connect the elevator to the output torque tube.
(7) Input Rods of the Elevator Power Control Unit - Use this task to adjust the two input rods (primary
and secondary) of the right and left elevator power control units (PCUs).
(8) Input Rods of the Elevator Neutral Shift Mechanism and Output Rod of the Feel and Centering
Unit Adjustment - Use this task to adjust the input rods which connect the neutral shift
mechanism to the stabilizer. It also includes steps to adjust the output rod which connect the feel
and centering unit to the input torque tube.
(9) Elevator Tab Pushrods Adjustment - Use this task to adjust the elevator tab pushrods.
(10) Input Rod of the Elevator Feel Computer Adjustment - Use this test to adjust the input rod
(stabilizer pushrod) of the elevator feel computer.
(11) Elevator Surface Friction and Balance Test - Use this task to make sure the elevators are
balanced.
(12) Elevator Balance Panels Test - Use this test to make sure the elevator balance panels are
installed properly.
(13) Elevator Limit Travel Test - Use this test to make sure the elevator operates correctly.
(14) Elevator Output Torque Tube Linkage Test - Use this task to do a check of the elevator output
torque tube bus linkage.
(15) Elevator Tab Linkage Test - Use this task to do a check of the elevator tab control system.
(16) Manual Mode Test - Use this task to make sure the control columns and control wheels operate
freely.
(17) Control Column Travel and Centering Test - Use this test to make sure the control columns can
move through their full travel. This test also includes the centering test of the control columns.
(18) Control Column Power Force Test - Use this test to make sure the control columns move with a
correct force.
(19) Neutral Shift Test - Use this test to make sure the neutral shift mechanism moves the elevator
correctly when the stabilizer moves. When the stabilizer moves, it provides input to the elevator
PCUs.
(20) Feel Differential Pressure Light Test - Use this test to make sure the FEEL DIFF PRESS light and
the trailing edge flaps switch, S1051 operate correctly.
