AILERON POWER CONTROL UNIT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1) A removal of the aileron power control unit
(2) An installation of the aileron power control unit.
B. The aileron power control unit is referred to as the "power control unit" in this procedure.
C. The two power control units supply hydraulic power to the aileron. The power control unit at the
bottom is connected to hydraulic system A. The power control unit at the top is connected to
hydraulic system B.
D. This procedure is applicable for the power control units that are connected to hydraulic systems A
and B.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THE DOWNLOCK PINS ARE INSTALLED ON ALL THE LANDING GEAR.
WITHOUT THE DOWNLOCK PINS, THE LANDING GEAR COULD RETRACT AND CAUSE
INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) If the downlock pins are not installed on all the landing gear, do this task: Landing Gear
Downlock Pins Installation, TASK 32-00-01-480-801.

(2) Do this task: Remove Pressure from the Aileron Hydraulic Systems A and B,

E. Aileron Power Control Unit Linkage Removal
SUBTASK 27-11-71-020-001
(1) Disconnect the hydraulic lines [4] at the inlet and outlet ports of the power control unit
assembly [1]. Use a 1 U.S.-gal (3.81 l) oil resistant container, STD-203 to contain any hydraulic
fluid leakage. Discard the packing [2] and packing [6].
(a) Install the caps and plugs on the hydraulic lines [4] and ports.

(2) Remove the power control unit assembly [1]:
(a) Remove the pin [13], nuts [12], washers [11], bushings [10], washers [9], and bolts [8] to
disconnect the pogos [7] from the power control unit assembly [1]. Discard the pin [13].
(b) Remove the bolts [30], washers [31], bolt [32] and washer [33] to disconnect the bracket
assemblies from the power control unit assembly [1].
(c) Remove the pin [23], nut [22], washer [21], nut [24], washers [25], bushings [26], washers
[28], and bolt [14] to disconnect the power control unit assembly [1] from the reaction
support assembly [27]. Discard the pin [23].
(d) Remove the nut [20], washer [19], washers [17], spacer [16] and bolt [15] to disconnect the
safety link [18] from the reaction support assembly [27].
(e) Move the reaction link [29] aft to get access to the power control unit assembly [1].
(f) Remove the pin [37], nut [38], washer [39], washer [35], and bolt [34] to disconnect the
power control unit assembly [1] from the output lever assembly [36]. Discard the pin [37].
