(12) Do this adjustment to the upper control rod [36]:
(a) Loosen the clamp nut [35] on the upper control rod [36] until you can rotate the sleeve [37].
(b) Rotate the sleeve [37] until the rudder trailing edge is within the center of the index plate.
1) Make sure that the rudder trailing edge does not go beyond the center of the index
plate on to the right side. If this happens, start the adjustment again with the rudder
trailing edge positioned to the left of the index plate.

NOTE: Do not torque the clamp nut [35] at this time.
(d) Make sure that the rudder trailing edge is still within the center of the index plate.

(13) Set the FLT CONTROL A switch to OFF and set the FLT CONTROL B switch to ON.

(14) Do this adjustment to the lower control rod [36]:
(a) Loosen the clamp nut [35] on the lower control rod [36] until you can rotate the sleeve [37].
(b) Rotate the sleeve [37] until the rudder trailing edge is within the center of the index plate.
1) Make sure that the rudder trailing edge does not go beyond the center of the index
plate on to the right side. If this happens, start the adjustment again with the rudder
trailing edge positioned to the left of the index plate.
(c) Tighten the clamp nut [35] on the lower control rod [36].
NOTE: Do not torque the clamp nut [35] at this time.
(d) Make sure that the rudder trailing edge is still within the center of the index plate.

(15) Set the FLT CONTROL A switch to ON.
(a) Make sure that the rudder trailing edge is still within the center of the index plate.

(16) Set the FLT CONTROL B switch to OFF.

(20) Tap on the rudder pedals lightly to put the rudder pedals to the neutral position.

(21) Remove the safety tag and close this circuit breaker:

(22) Verify voltage between pin 18 and pin 20 of connector D10064 on the EE shelf is between 4.38
VDC to 5.62 VDC.
(a) If the voltage measured is not between 4.38 VDC to 5.62 VDC, adjust the control rods [36] for
the Main Rudder PCU.
