R  (1) Fully extend the piston of the door actuator (16) until the internal mechanical locking mechanism engages.
 (2) Measure the distance between the eye-end of the fully extended door actuator (16).
 NOTE : The distance must be the same as the removed door actuator.____ 
R R  (3) If the distance is not the same, adjust the length of the replacement door actuator (16) as follows: 
R R  (a) Loosen the jam nut (8) and disengage both parts of the safety device (7). 
R R  (b) Turn the eye-end (10) as required until the replacement door actuator (16) has the same length as the removed door actuator. 
R R  (c) Put the safety device (7) in position and tighten the jam nut (8) with your hand.

 B. Preparation of the Replacement Components
 (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
 (2) Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
 (3) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
 (4) Make sure that the electrical connectors are clean and in the correct condition.
 (5) Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-005) to the contact area of the washers and the bushes.
 (6) Apply COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-011) to the actuator bolts.
 (7) Make sure that all bushes are in the correct condition.

 

 (8) Make sure that the replacement door actuator is filled with HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003).

 C. Installation of the Door Actuator CAUTION : USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN
_______ YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU USE THE SECOND WRENCH, YOU WILL NOT LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
 CAUTION : YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS
_______
 LUBRICANT.

 (1)
 Attach the door actuator (16) on the actuator beam (24) as follows:

 (a)
 If removed, install the bushes (20) and (21) into the fork-end of the actuator beam (24).

 (b)
 Put the door actuator (16) in position and install the bolt (22) with the washers (23) and the nut (25).

 (c)
 Tighten the nut (25) with your hand but do not safety it at this time.

 

 (2)
 Attach the door actuator (16) on the cargo door structure as follows:

 (a)
 If removed, install the bushes (9) and (11) into the fork-end of the actuator attachment fitting (4).

 (b)
 Put the eye-end (10) in position to the fork-end of the actuator attachment fitting (4) so that their bores are align.

 

R (c) If the bores do not align, adjust the length of the door actuator R (16) so that the bolt (5) goes in freely (refer to step A.)
 NOTE : Make sure that the bonding angle of the eye-end (10)
____
 points down.

 (d)
 If you cannot install the bolt (5) freely, turn the piston rod

 (6) as required until the bolt (5) goes in freely (fine adjustment).

 (e)
 Install the bolt (5) with the washers (3) and the nut (2). NOTE : Make sure that the bolt (5) goes in freely.

 (f) Tighten the nut (2) with your hand but do not safety it at this time.
 (3)
 Install the hydraulic connections on the door actuator as follows:

 (a)
 Remove the blanking plugs from the ports and the blanking caps from the flexible hoses (28) and (29).

 (b)
 Make sure that the union nuts of the flexible hoses (28) and (29) are serviceable.

 (c)
 Apply HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003) to the threads of the unions.

 (d)
 Install the flexible hose (29) to port A and tighten its union nut with your hand.

 (e)
 Install the flexible hose (28) to port B and tighten its union nut with your hand.

 (f)
 TORQUE the union nuts of the flexible hoses (28) and (29) to between 1.5 and 1.7 m.daN (11.06 and 12.53 lbf.ft).

 

 (4)
 Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connector (27) and from the receptacle.

 (5)
 Connect the electrical connector (27).

 (6)
 If you have replaced the two door actuators of the cargo door , adjust the door opening angle (Ref. TASK 52-31-11-820-004).

 D. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 1MJ, 3801GX, 3802GX, 3803GX.
