3. Component Description_____________________
A. External Power Receptacle Door 121AL
(Ref. Fig. 002)
The external power receptacle door 121AL is installed in the lower fuselage between FR7 and FR8. The door is a quick-opening type door and opens outwards towards the front of the aircraft. The door gives access to the ground electrical connector and to the interphone service panel. The external power receptacle door is made of light alloy and consists of a shaped plate. The door is made stronger on the inner side with a doubler plate. Attached to the door are the hinge assy, the latch assy and the two stop angles. The latch assy and the two stop angles are attached with rivets to the door. The hinge assy is attached with rivets to the door and with screws to the door panel hood. The spring rod assy is installed between the hinge assy and the push rod fitting. The push rod fitting is attached to the door panel hood. The spring rod assy consists of a spring and a shaft with turns between the hinge assy and the push rod fitting. It forms an over-center device which keeps the door in the fully open position and helps to close the door.
B. FWD and AFT Cargo Compartment Door Control Panel Door 134AR, 154AR (Ref. Fig. 003) The FWD cargo compartment door control panel door 134AR is installed in the lower fuselage between FR29 and FR30. The AFT cargo compartment door control panel door 154AR is installed in the lower fuselage between FR56 and FR57. The doors are quick-opening type doors and open outward toward the front of the aircraft. The doors give access to the cargo compartment door control panels.
Each control panel door is made of light alloy and consists of a shaped plate to accommodate the hinges and the latch mechanism. The latch mechanism lock the control panel doors in the closed position. Each locking pin of the latch mechanisms engages with a retaining catch, which is installed in the fuselage. The doors are then flush with the fuselage contour. Two hinges attach the control panel doors to the fuselage. A spring rod assembly is attached to a hinge on each control panel door and to fittings at the fuselage. The spring rod assembly consists of a spring and a shaft which pivots between the hinge and the fitting. It forms an overcenter device which retains the panel door in the fully open position and helps to close the door.

C. Potable Water Service Door 171AL (Ref. Fig. 004)
The potable water service door 171AL is installed in the lower fuselage between FR65 and FR66. The potable water service door is adapted to the fuselage contour and gives access to the potable water service panel. The door is a quick-opening type door and opens outward to the front of the aircraft.
The potable water service door is made of honeycomb core which is bonded between prepreg sheets. A light alloy sheet is bonded to the outer side of the potable water service door. The potable water service door is attached to the fuselage with two support hinges. They are riveted to the door and screwed to the fuselage. Screwed between the support hinges and the fuselage are the flat springs, which hold the door in the open position. A hood is integrated at the inner side of the door. The hood is equipped with a rubber seal. When the door is closed, the rubber seal blanks off a drain pipe.
