4. Galley Door Adjustment (Soft Unlatching) (Fig. 501B)________________________________________
A. General
(1)
If the latch torque tubes are not adjusted correctly, the door handle can move too easily. This can cause the door to open accidentally (soft unlatching). This task is a special procedure to adjust the door if it opens accidentally (soft unlatching).

Do a check of the latch crank overcenter:
(a)
Remove the escape slide assembly (Ref. 25-61-35/201).
(b)
Remove the door lining (Ref. 52-41-31/401).
(c)
Attach a 90-pound weight to the door approximately in the middle of the bottom half of the door. Attach a 60-pound weight approximately in the middle of the bottom half of the AFT door. 1) You may use the rigging simulator tool, C52006-1.
(d)
Do a check of the latch crank overcenter (Fig. 503).
(e)
Adjust the overcenter if it is not correct (Fig. 509).
(f)
If you adjust the latch crank overcenter, do all of the task to adjust the door.
NOTE: The overcenter adjustment affects several other door

adjustments.
(g) Make sure the door is back in its usual position. 1) Remove the weight or the rigging simulator tool from the
door. 2) Install the lining on the door (Ref 52-41-31/401). 3) Install the escape slide on the door (Ref 25-61-35/201).
