Remove the roller (21) from the guide arm.

 (a)  
Push the latch pin (6) against the spring (19).

 (b)  
While you hold the latch pin, remove the spring pin (20).

 (c)  
Remove the latch pin and the spring.

 (d)  
Remove the roller (21) from the guide arm. 1) Push the roller and the bottom bushing out of the guide

 arm. 2) Remove the collar (16) and the thrust bearing (8).

 (1)  
Examine the guide plates.

 (a)  
Measure the distance between the guide plates at the top hinge.

 (b)  
Make sure the distance is from 1.395 to 1.405 inch.

 NOTE: The latch pin operates correctly with this dimension.

 1)  Change the shims below the guide plates if it is necessary to get the correct dimension. a) Remove the bolts that hold the top guide plate. b) Remove the top guide plate. c) Change the shims to get the correct dimension. d) Install the guide plate. e) Install the bolts that hold the guide plate.

 (2)  
Lubricate the parts.

 (a)  
Put a layer of grease on the latch pin (6).

 (b)  
Put a layer of grease on the roller (21), the thrust bearing

 (8)
 and the collar (16).

 (c)  
Put a layer of grease in the tracks on the top and the bottom guide plate.

Assemble the roller mechanism on the guide arm.

 (a)  
Make the chamfer on the guide arm point up.

 (b)  
Install the collar and the thrust bearing in the guide arm.

 (c)  
Put the bushings on the roller.

 (d)  
Install the roller in the guide arm.

 (e)  
Make sure the surfaces of the bushings align with the surfaces of the guide arm.

 (f)  
Install the spring and the latch pin in the roller.

 (g)  
While you hold the latch pin, put the spring pin in the collar.

Install the latch lever mechanism on the guide arm.

 (a)  
Put the trigger (27) and the washers on the trigger screw (29).

 (b)  
Install the trigger screw (29) in the guide arm.

 (c)  
Put the cam (15) and the washers on the trigger screw.

 (d)  
Put the spacer (12), spring (13), link (14), and washer on the latch lever screw (10).

 (e)  
Install the latch lever screw in the guide arm.

 (f)  
Put the latch lever (26) and washers on the latch lever screw.

 (g)  
Do a check of the installation of the spring (13). 1) See that the spring (13) makes the cam (15) push up against
