Remove the assist handle (5) from the door:
(a)
Remove the bolts (16), inner collar (15), outer collar (13), and nuts (14) from the door panel (1).

Remove the door panel (1) from the door:
(a)
Remove the washers (24) and nuts (25) that attach the bottom of the door panel (1) to the retainers.
(b)
Pull the fasteners (18) from the top of the door panel (1).
(c)
Pull the fasteners (18) from the forward and aft edges of the door panel (1).
(d)
Remove the door panel (1) and the seal (17) from the door.
NOTE: The window (2) stays on the door panel (1).

Install the door panel (1) on the door:
(a)
Put the door panel (1) and the seal (17) in the correct position on the door.
(b)
Push the fasteners (18) on the forward and aft edges of the door panel (1).
(c)
Push the fasteners (18) on the top of the door panel (1).
(d)
Install the washers (24) and nuts (25) that attach the bottom of the door panel (1) to the retainers.

Install the assist handle (5) on the door:
(a)
Install the bolts (16), inner collar (15), outer collar (13), and nuts (14) to the door panel (1).
(b)
Use the F70336-1 wrench to tighten the nuts (14) on the assist handle (5).

Install the handle (3) on the door:
(a)
Install the shims (27) between the door panel (1) and the hub (23) as necessary. 1) Apply grease, BMS 3-24, on the sides of the shims (27) as
you install them.
(b)
Install the hub (23) and its bolts (26).
(c)
Install the new lockwire on the bolts (26) as shown.
(d)
Install the mount (21) on the door panel with screws (12) and washers (20).
(e)
Install the foam filler (11).
(f)
Position the cover (10) over the mount (12).
(g)
Align the screws in the cover (10) with the slots in the mount (12) and move horizontally to lock the cover in place.
(h)
Install the screw (9) in the cover (10).
(i)
Position the inside handle (3) on the hub (23).
(j)
Install the washers (8) and nuts (7).
(k)
Install the cotter pins (6).
(l)
Install the insert (19) in the inside handle (3).
(m)
Make sure that a minimum clearance of 0.10 inch (2.54 mm) is between the cover (10) and the inside handle (3). 1) If the clearance is less than 0.10 inch (2.54 mm), add
shims.

(4) Install the escape slide assembly (4) on the door (AMM 25-61-35/201).
