 (3)  S 825-006-B00Adjust the heel pads (10). (a) Change the number of washers (11) below the heel pads to move them vertically. (b) Move the heel pads until they touch the sill.
 NOTE:____ The heel pads must have no load on them when the hatch is closed.
 (4)  S 825-007-B00Adjust the hatch clearance. (a) Make sure the clearance between the edge of the hatch and the hatch opening is from 0.06 TO 0.18 inch.
 CAUTION:_______ DO NOT REMOVE MATERIAL FROM THE EDGE OF THE HATCH OPENINGS. ONLY REMOVE MATERIAL FROM THE EDGE OF THE HATCH. IF YOU REMOVE MATERIAL FROM THE OPENINGS, IT WILL NOT BE POSSIBLE TO ADJUST THE HATCH CORRECTLY.
 (b)  If it is necessary, remove material from the edge of the hatch to get the correct dimension.
 (5)  S 015-008-B00Remove the hatch (Ref 52-21-00/401).
 (6)  S 035-023-B00Remove the locksprings from the lock pins.
 (7)  S 945-009-B00Turn the stop pins (4) counterclockwise until they will not touch the stop fittings when you install the hatch.
 (8)  S 865-010-B00Install the hatch (Ref 52-21-00/401).

 (9)  
Adjust the hatch flushness.

 (a)  
Make sure there is 0.03 to 0.12 inch between the contours of the fuselage and the hatch.

 NOTE: A flushness of 0.00 to 0.15 inch is satisfactory for
____ less than 5.8 inches along the edge of the hatch.
 NOTE: The external contour of the hatch must always be inboard
____ of the external contour of the fuselage.
 (b)  
Adjust the flushness if it is necessary: 1) Adjust the latch fittings (3) on the latch plates (2) 2) Adjust the lower pivot fitting (7) on the plate (9).

 (c)  
Do a check of the hatch flushness again.

 (10)
 Adjust the stop pins (4).

 (a)  
Turn the stop pins (4) clockwise until they touch the stop fittings (5).

 (b)  
Turn the stop fittings one-half turn counterclockwise.

 (c)  
Continue to turn the stop pins until the slot aligns with the bushing.

 NOTE: Do not turn the stop pin more than 1/16th of a turn.

 (d)  Put the lockspring in the slot.

 Adjust the guide block for the roller assembly.

 (a)  
Change the thickness of the shim to move the guide block.

 (b)  
Move the guide block until you get the clearance shown at the pivot hook (Section A-A).

 Remove the hatch (Ref 52-21-00/001).

 (13)
 Make sure there is a placard to show the location of the hatch.

 (a)  
Look at the top edge of the hatch to see the placard.

 (b)  
See that the placard shows the correct location for the hatch.

 NOTE: For example, the placard shows LH for a hatch

 on the left side of the airplane.

 (c)  
If it is necessary, install a new placard.

 (d)  
If it is necessary, make the placard show the correct location of the hatch.

 Do a check of the force to operate the hatch.

 (a)
Use a spring scale to measure the force to move the handle

 NOTE: Do not install the hatch to do this step.

 1)  Make sure the force is from 6 to 10 pounds.
