Remove the bolt (12) that holds the hinge arm (15) to the hinge link (11).
(b)
If it is necessary, remove the snubber (22): 1) Remove the bolts (23) and washers (24) that hold the attach fitting (16) to the hinge support (17). 2) Remove the nut (19), washer (20) and snubber bolt (22) that
attach the snuber (18) to the stop link (21). 3) Remove the snubber (18).
(c)
If the snuber (18) is installed, remove the bolts (23) and washers (24) that hold the attach fitting (16) to the hinge support (17).

(8) Remove the door from the airplane.
NOTE: The door weighs approximately 136 pounds.
____ The door can be lifted from above with a strap attached through the top middle lightening holes of the door inner skin.

Put the safety barrier across the door opening.

The stop pins with the lock springs

(1)
Apply the Corrosion Preventive Compound (BMS 3-23) to these areas (SRM 51-20-01):
(a)
The hinges
(b)
Below the scuff plates
(c)
The bottom 3 to 4 inches of the door.

Remove the door safety barrier, if it is installed.

Move the door to a position adjacent to the door opening.
(a)
Use the wood block to hold the door.
(b)
Move the door until it is approximately 60 degrees from its open position.
(c)
Move the door until the holes in the hinge arms align with the holes in the hinge links.

(4) Connect the door to the airplane at the bottom hinge.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE DOOR MOVE TOO MUCH WHILE YOU INSTALL THE
_______ HINGES. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HINGES IF YOU LET THE DOOR MOVE TOO MUCH.
(a)
If the snubber (18) is attached to the stop link (21), connect the snubber (18) to the door: 1) Install the washers (24) and bolts (23) to attach the
attach fitting (16) to the hinge support (17).
(b)
If the snubber (18) is not attached to the stop link (21), install the snubber (18): 1) Put the snubber (18) into its correct position on the
airplane.
