Put the hinge pin through the bearing.

 (e)  
Put the hinge pin through the washer, radius link and hinge link.

 NOTE: An index space is included in the hinge link and hinge
____ pin. Align the index spaces when the hinge pin is installed in the hinge link.
 (f)  
Install the lower hinge bolt in the lower hinge housing.

 (g)  
Make sure the hinge link is centered in the lower hinge cutout.

 (h)  
If the hinge link is not in the center of the hinge cutout, remove or add washers to get the lower hinge link in the center of the lower hinge cutout.

 NOTE: Keep the door hinge pin washers in the correct order.

 (i)  If the hinge pins and torque tubes have holes drilled for the bolts, remove the hinge pin and washers.
 NOTE: Keep the hinge pin washers in the correct order.

 (j) Do these steps if the hinge pins or the torque tubes do not have holes for the bolts: 1) Put the upper hinge pin and hinge link in the airplane. 2) Make sure the hinge links align with the airplane structure. 3) Put the upper and lower sleeve 1.81 inches in the upper and lower hinge pin. Use the holes in the sleeve to locate the new bolt holes. Mark the bolt holes in the hinge pins. 4) Put the torque tube 1.81 inches in the upper and lower sleeve. Use the holes in the sleeve to locate the holes. Mark the holes in the torque tubes.
 5)  Remove the torque tube, sleeves, hinge links and the hinge pins from the airplane.
 NOTE: Make sure you keep the lower hinge pin washers in
____
 the correct order.

 6) Drill a 0.234 inch hole in the hinge pin or torque tube.
 NOTE:____The hinge pin is hard. It is not easily drilled.
 7)  Ream the hole to 0.250 +/-0.005 inch.
 NOTE:____The hinge pin is hard. It is not easily reamed.
 (k) Do these steps to install the upper hinge pin: 1) Clean the upper hinge pin and pin housing (SOPM 20-30-03). 2) Apply a thin coat of corrosion preventive compound to the splines of the hinge pin and hinge link.
 3)  Install the upper hinge pin and hinge link in the hinge housing. Make sure the index spaces on the hinge link and hinge pin are aligned.

 4)  Install the hinge pin bolt in the upper hinge housing.
Do these steps to install the lower hinge pin:
 1)  Clean the lower hinge housing, stop link, stop plate and hinge link (SOPM 20-30-03).
 2)  Apply a thin coat of corrosion preventive compound to the splines of the hinge pin and hinge link.
 3)  Apply a thin coat of grease to the tip of the hinge pin, sleeves and torque tube (SOPM 20-30-03).
 4)  Apply a thin coat of grease to the tip of the hinge pin, sleeves and torque tube (SOPM 20-30-03).
 5)  Apply a coat of grease to the O-rings (SOPM 20-30-03).
 6)  Install the lower hinge pin, radius link and hinge pin through the hinge housing and the bearing.
 NOTE: Make sure the hinge pin washers are in the correct
____
 order.

 7)  Install the lower hinge pin bolt in the hinge housing.
 8)  Install the thin O-ring, thick O-ring, washers and compression spring as shown in (Fig./401).
Do these steps to install the torque tube and sleeves:
 1)  Put the sleeves on the torque tube.
 2)  Install the torque tube and the sleeves over the upper and lower hinge pins.
 3)  Install the bolts in the torque tube, sleeves and hinge pins. Install a washer under the nut. Tighten the bolts to 30 to 40 pound-inch.
 4)  Make sure the nuts are at the end of the bolt threads.
 5)  Make sure there is from 0.00 to 0.016 inch between the sleeve and the washer.
