 (1)  
Examine the O-rings.

 (a)  
See that the O-rings are in good condtion.

 (b)  
See that the O-rings are installed correctly.

Put a layer of grease on the hinge arms where they touch the hinge pin.

Install the hinge arms.

 (a)
Put the hinge arms (18) in the hinge supports (20).

 (b) (c) (d)  Install the hinge pins in the hinge arms.Install the hinge pin bolts (19) in the hinge arms.Install the hinge link bolts (15) in the hinge arms.

 (4)  Install the housing for the handle mechanism (4). (a) Install a new O-ring for the external handle. (b) Put the housing in the door. (c) Make sure the torque tube aligns with the hinge pins. 1) Move the nuts for vertical adjustment if the torque tube does not align. (d) Install the four bolts in the recess for the external handle.

 (5)  Assemble the torque tube, hinge pins (1) and sleeves. (a) Lubricate the parts as follows: 1) Put a layer of grease on the hinge pins. 2) Put a layer of grease on the sleeves. 3) Put a layer of grease on the torque tube. (b) Move the sleeves to the joint between the torque tube and the hinge pins. (c) Install the bolts through the torque tube, sleeve and hinge pin. (d) Install the nuts and the washers on the bolts. 1) Tighten the nuts until they are at the end of the threads on the bolts.
 NOTE:____ The nuts do not tighten against the sleeve.
 2)  Make sure there is not more than 0.016 inch between the sleeve and the washers.
 3)  Install one more washer if it is necessary to get the correct distance.

 (6)  Install the 12 bolts (8, Fig. 401) that hold the housing for the handle mechanism to the structure.

 (7)  Connect the control rods (1 and 3) for the gates. (a) Connect the control rods to the handle mechanism. (b) Connect the control rods to the gates.

 (8)  Install the access panel (2) on the door.

 (9)  Install the hinge arm covers.
