 (b)  
Put the assembled torque tube, sleeves (4) (10), and center assist spring (6) in position in the fuselage frame.

 (c)  
Put the S-12 stop fitting (35) over the lower torque tube.

 (d)  
Put the lower sleeve (8) and lower assist spring (7) over the lower torque tube.

 NOTE: The coil that holds the bolt (30) is in the up
____
 position and must point aft.

 (e)  
Align the bolt holes in the ends of the torque tube with the bolt holes in the sleeves (4) (8) and hinge spigots (9) (11).

 (f)  
AIRPLANES WITH TWO PIECE TORQUE TUBES; Pull the torque tubes (22) (31) apart to move the ends of the torque tubes (22) (31) fully over the hinge spigots (9) (11).

 (g)  
Install the bolt (26), washer (27), bushing (21), washer (18), washer (20), and nut (19) to attach the upper fuselage hinge torque tube (31) to the upper hinge spigot (11).

 (h)  
Tighten the nut (19) to 70-90 in-lbs. 1) Make sure the nut (19) touches the shank of the bolt (26). 2) Make sure there is a minimum 0.016 inch gap between the

 washer (27) and sleeve (4).

 (i)  
Install the bolt (26), washer (27), bushing (21), washer (18), washer (20), and nut (19) to attach the lower fuselage hinge torque tube to the lower hinge spigot (9).

 (j)  
Tighten the nut (19) to 70-90 in-lbs. 1) Make sure the nut (19) touches the shank of the bolt (26). 2) Make sure there is a minimum 0.016 inch gap between the

 washer (27) and sleeve (8).

 (3)  
Connect the S-12 stop fitting (35) to the fuselage frame as follows, Views D (Fig. 401):

 (a)  
Put the S-12 stop fitting (35) in position against the fuselage frame.

 (b)  
Install the bolts (34), washers (33), and nuts (32) to attach the S-12 stop fitting (35) to the fuselage frame.

 (4)  
Connect the assist springs (5) (6) (7) to the torque tube as follows:

 (a)  
Align the bolt holes in the center sleeve (10) with the bolt holes in the torque tube.

 (b)  
Install the bolt (17), washer (16), washer (15), bushing (14), washer (13) and nut (12) to connect the center assist spring (6), center sleeve (10), and torque tube.

 (c)  
Tighten the nut (12) to 70-90 in-lbs. 1) Make sure the nut (12) touches the shank of the bolt (17). 2) Make sure there is a minimum 0.016 inch gap between the

 washer (13) and sleeve (10).

 (d)  
Install the bolt (30), washer (29), spring retainers (24), bushing (28), bushing (25), and nut (23) to attach the upper assist spring (5) to the center assist spring (6).

 (e)  
Install the bolt (30), washer (29), spring retainers (24), bushing (28), bushing (25), and nut (23) to attach the lower assist spring (7) to the center assist spring (6).

Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

 (1)  
Install the panel reveal (3) as follows:

 (a)  
Put the panel reveal (3) in position on the fuselage.

 (b)  
Install the screws (2) to attach the panel reveal (3) to the fuselage.

 (2)  
Install the sidewall lining on the forward edge of the door opening (AMM 25-21-31/401) .

 (3)  
Remove the wood block that holds the door.

 (4)
Install the escape slide assembly on the door (AMM 25-61-35/201).
