 the step (10) to continue the adjustment.

 NOTE:____ You can use a clay model to find the correct position or
 clearance of the bearing.

Find the necessary thickness of the shim (26):

Measure the clearance between the bearing (3) and the bottom of the slot in the cam (3) with the handles in the closed positions.

 (b)  Decrease the shim (26), if it is necessary.
 (c)  Temporarily install the center shaft mechanism.
 NOTE:____ Do not include the support fitting.

 Make sure the external handle is fully extended.

 (a)  
Make sure the clearance between the cam follower bearing (3) and the edge of the basket cam (25) is at least 0.005 inch minimum (Fig. 501, Section A-A).

 NOTE: Use washers and shim as required to keep the mounting
____ screws square to the external handle and the cam follower bearing support. Adjust the shim and washers to achieve at least 0.005 inch minimum gap as shown in (Fig. 501, Section A-A).
 Make sure the screw ends are flush with the cam follower bearing support within +/- 0.02.

 Put the external handles in the closed positions.

 (a)  
Make sure the flushness between the handle and the door outer contour is as shown in View A-A, Fig. 502.

 NOTE: Ignore the incorrect fairing caused by the incorrect
____ adjustment between the latch assembly and the handle.

 If the flushness is not satisfactory, remove the handles and the center shaft, include the basket cam from the housing (Ref 52-11-13/401).

 Adjust the shim thickness (22) to get the correct handle flushness.

 Temporarily install the cam (25) and the center shaft mechanism, with the correct thickness shim (22) (Ref 52-11-13/401).
