 1.  General_______
 A. This procedure contains two tasks:
 (1)  
The removal of the rotary snubber from the body torque tube at Door 5

 (2)  
The installation of the rotary snubber on the body torque tube at Door 5.

 B.
This procedure refers to the rotary snubber as the snubber.

 C.
You can remove the snubber with the door on or off the airplane.

With the door on the airplane, do the steps that follow to remove the bolts from the snubber.

 (a)  
Close the door.

 (b)  
Put the mode selector lever in the disarmed (MANUAL/DISARM) position.

 (c)  
Remove the bolts that hold the snubber. 1) Open the door as necessary to get access to the bolts in

 the sleeve. 2) Remove the bolts in the sleeve. 3) Close and latch the door.
 NOTE: Door must remain latched closed while snubber is
____ out of the airplane.
 4) Remove the bolt that connects the snubber arm to the link.

With the door off the airplane, do the steps that follow to remove the bolts from the snubber.

 (a)  
Remove the bolts that hold the snubber. 1) Turn the torque tube as necessary to get access to the

 bolts in the sleeve. 2) Remove the bolts in the sleeve. 3) Remove the bolt that connects the snubber arm to the link.

Remove the snubber from the airplane.

 (a)
Put marks on the snubber to show its correct location.

 NOTE: These marks help the subsequent installation.

 1) Make a mark between the sleeve and the snubber. 2) Make a mark between the sleeve and the shaft for the lower hinge link.
