Install the spring (49) and the collar (48) on the shaft (59).

Assemble and install the body torque tube.

 (a)  
Install the shaft assembly (24) through the stop beam.

 (b)  
Install the lower cam plate (15).

 (c)  
Install the cam plate (16) in the hinge housing.

 (d)  
Install the lower link (12) in the cam plate (16).

 NOTE: Install the guide arm and the lower link together.

 (e)  
Install the lower bearing plate (19).

 1)  Attach the cam plate (16) and the bearing plate to the hinge housing.

 (f)  
Apply grease to fill the holes on the top of the bearings in the lower cam plate (15) and the bearing plate (19).

 NOTE: This prevents the entry of water.

 (g)  
Install the washer (11) and the nut (10) on the lower link (12) and tighten the nut (10).

 (h)  
Install the shaft assembly (24) on the lower link (12) and tighten the bolt (21).

 (i)  
Install the anchor plate (32) on the shaft assembly (24).

 NOTE: Use the marks to align the anchor plate correctly.

 (j)  
Install the bolt.

 (k)  
Install the upper bearing plate (3).

 (l)  
Install the upper link (45) and spacer (5) in the upper hinge housing.

 (m)  
Install the lower bearing plate (44) temporarily.

 (n)  
Measure the clearance between the spacer (5) and the upper bearing plate (3).

 (o)  
Remove the lower bearing plate (44).

 (p)  
Add shims (4) above the spacer (5) to get a 0.01 inch clearance or less.

 (q)  
Install the lower bearing plate (44).

 (r)  
Apply grease to fill the hole on the top of the bearing in the bearing plate (44) to prevent the entry of water.

 (s)  
Install the spacer (33) in the anchor plate (32).

 (t)  
Move the telescopic sleeve (42) above the snubber shaft and install the snubber (38) to engage the splines on the shaft assembly (24).

 (u)  
Lubricate the splines of the snubber (38) with grease.

 1)  Fill the hole between the snubber shaft and the anchor plate (32) to prevent the entry of water.

 (v)  
Extend the telescopic sleeve (42) to engage the upper link (45).

 (w)  
Tighten the bolt (41).

 (x)  
Connect the snubber arm (38) to the structure link (36).

 (y)  
Install the release handle (30, 61) through the doorway frame and install the bolt (8).

 (z)  
Move the release handle (30), (61) from side to side.

 (aa) Add washers at the handle pivots until the side to side movement is less than .06 inches.
 NOTE: Do not use more than one washer on each side of the
____
 handle.

 (ab) Make sure the handle operates freely.
 (ac) Connect the spring (31) to the release handle (30, 61).

Clean the surface around the upper link and remove unwanted sealant.

Put the grease shield around the upper link and apply sealant to the outer edges and to the cutting line (detail D).

Apply corrosion preventive compound to the chain (9), the sprocket (57), and to the general area above and below.

Make sure the chain guard on the access panel (section A-A) does not touch the chain when installed.
