Make sure the top, bottom, and corners of the seal are in the correct position.

Use strips of masking tape to temporarily attach the seal to the door frame.

Install the seal into the seal retainer at each corner of the door for a distance of 1-2 inches.

 (a)  
Install the inboard edge of the seal into the inboard side of the seal retainer.

 CAUTION:_______BE CAREFULL WHEN YOU INSTALL THE SEAL. DO NOT MAKE CUTS, TEARS, OR HOLES IN THE SEAL. DAMAGE TO THE SEAL CAN EASILY OCCUR.

 (b)  
Use the door seal installation tool (or a smooth, rounded tool) to push the outboard edge of the seal into the outboard side of the seal retainer. Push the seal vertical to the seal edge to keep the seal smooth.

 NOTE: Use liquid soap to lubricate the seal during the

 installation.

If you do not see nicotine stains, cracks or porosity on the pressure seal, do these steps:

 (a)  
Remove the lining and the dado panel around the door.

 (b)  
Examine the seal with the door closed.

 (c)  
Make sure the seal deflection is as shown in Detail A.

Check the air leak with a flashlight.

 (a)
