Procedure

 S 024-010
 (1)
If you install a new door, remove these parts from the old door:

 (a)  
the door lining, cover, and reveals

 (b)  
the door seal

 (c)  
The bottom hinge pin

 (d)  
The cam follower and the fitting that adjusts the follower to the programming cam

 (e)  
The door stop pins

Remove the safety barrier.

On a new door, do these steps:

 (a)  
Turn the door handle to the open position.

 (b)  
Place the door in the door opening with the stop pins centered on the bearing plates within 0.15 inch.

 (c)  
Remove material from the edge of the door if it is necessary to achieve these dimensions: 1) from 0.06 to 0.12 inch at the forward, aft and top sides of

 the door 2) from 0.09 to 0.15 inch at the bottom of the door.

 (d)  
Remove the door from the opening.

Adjust the door stops and latches as follows:

 (a)  
Retract the stop pins until they are between 0.20 and 0.30 inch 0.20-0.30 inch beyond the face of the pad.

 NOTE: Keep the stop pin retainers for subsequent installation.

 (b)  
Loosen the fasteners on the latch fitting to allow vertical and horizontal adjustment.

 (c)  
Place the door in the opening with the stop pins centered on the bearing plates within 0.15 inch.

 (d)  
Turn the door handle in the closed direction to engage the latches and support the door.

 (e)  
Do these steps to adjust the door stops: 1) Turn the stop pins until they touch the bearing plates. 2) Turn the stop pins back one-half turn. 3) Install the retainers in the stop pins.

 (f)  
Adjust the latch cams to get these dimensions: 1) The door aligns with the fuselage as shown in Figure 402. 2) The clearance between the latch rollers and the latch

 fittings is from 0.10 to 0.16 inch. 3) The latch roller touches the latch fitting as shown in Figure 401.

 (g)  
Tighten the fasteners in the latch fittings to hold them when the door opens.

Connect the upper and the lower hinges.

 (a)  
Disconnect the upper control rod from the upper hinge fitting.

 (b)  
Disconnect the lower control rod at the crank.
