 (b)  
Make sure the top, bottom, and corners of the seal are in the correct position.

 (c)  
Make sure the seal is stretched equally.

 (d)  
Use strips of masking tape to temporarily attach the seal.

 CAUTION:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU INSTALL THE SEAL. DO NOT MAKE CUTS, TEARS, OR HOLES IN THE SEAL. DAMAGE TO THE SEAL CAN EASILY OCCUR.
 (2)  
On seal installations with a retainer flange, do these steps:

 (a)  
Use the door seal installation tool (or a smooth, rounded tool) to push one lip of the seal into the seal retainer.

 (b)  
Push the other edge of the seal into the seal retainer.

 NOTE: Use liquid soap to lubricate the seal during the
____
 installation.

 (3)  
On seal installations with a retainer angle, do these steps:

 (a)  
Put the seal below the retainer angle and install the screws or bolts to hold the seal in position.

 NOTE: For a new seal, you must make holes in the flange of the
____ seal to match the holes in the retainer angle.
 (b)  
Tighten the screws until you can see a compression in the seal flange.

 (4)  
Close the door.

 ACOUSTIC AND THERMO SEALS - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure contains two tasks. The first task is the removal of the acoustic and thermo seals. The second task is the installation of the acoustic and thermo seals.

 2.  Remove the Acoustic and Thermo Seal (Fig. 401)___________________________________
 A.  Procedure

 (1)
Put the door in a position to make the removal of the seal easy.

 (2)  
Pull and roll the seal to remove it from the seal retainer around the edge of the door.

Procedure

 (1)  
Put the seal into the correct position around the edge of the door.

 (a)  
Make sure the top, bottom, and corners of the seal are in the correct position.

 (b)  
Make sure the seal is stretched equally.

 (c)  
Use strips of masking tape to temporarily attach the seal to the door frame.

 S 424-006
 (2)
Install the seal in the seal retainer at each of the corners.

 (a)  
Install the inboard edge of the seal into the inner side of the seal retainer.
