7) Install the bolts [69], washers [70] and nuts [71].
(d) Use the crankshaft [3] to manually retract the aft flap assembly [2] to the retracted position.
(e) Install the rig pin in the crankshaft [3].
(f) Make sure the clearance between the main flap [1] and the aft flap assembly [2] is in the
limit.

(11) At the inboard end of the aft flap assembly [2], measure the compression of the seal [82] on the
aft side of the main flap [1]:

(a) Measure and record the distance between the trailing edge of the aft flap assembly [2] and
the lower cove panel [68].
NOTE: This distance is referred to as Dimension A.
(b) Remove the rig pin from the crankshaft [3].
(c) Use the crankshaft [3] to manually extend the aft flap assembly [2] until the seal [82] is not
compressed against the aft flap assembly [2].
(d) Measure and record the distance between the aft edge of the seal [82] and the lower cove
panel [68].
NOTE: This distance is referred to as Dimension B.

(12) If Dimension A minus Dimension B is not in the limit of 12.8393 ±0.100 inches (326.12 ±2.54
millimeters), then adjust the position of the seal [82]:
(a) Use the crankshaft [3] to manually extend the aft flap assembly [2] until you can get access
to the fasteners for the seal [82].
(b) Loosen the nuts [86], washers [85] and bolts [84] that attach the retainer [83].
(c) Move the retainer [83] with the seal [82] to change the distance to the compression of the
seal [82].
NOTE: This will change the Dimension B.
(d) Tighten the bolts [84], washers [85] and nuts [86] that attach the retainer [83].
(e) Use the crankshaft [3] to manually retract the aft flap assembly [2] to the retracted position.
(f) Install the rig pin in the crankshaft [3].

(13) Outboard of the inboard aft flap track [21], measure the distance between the aft edge of the seal
[63] and the seam on the lower surface of the aft flap assembly [2].
(a) If the distance between the seam on the aft flap assembly [2] and the seal [63] is not in the
limit of 4.7091 ±0.100 inches (119.61 ±2.54 millimeters), then adjust the position of the seal
[63]:
1) Remove the rig pin from the crankshaft [3].
2) Use the crankshaft [3] to manually extend the aft flap assembly [2] until you can get
access to the fasteners for the seal [63].
3) Loosen the nuts [66], washers [65] and bolts [64] that attach the retainer [67].
4) Move the retainer [67] with the seal [63] to change the distance to the seam on the aft
flap assembly [2].
5) Tighten the nuts [66], washers [65] and bolts [64] that attach the retainer [67].
6) Use the crankshaft [3] to manually retract the aft flap assembly [2] to the retracted
position.
7) Install the rig pin in the crankshaft [3].
(b) Make sure the distance between the trailing edge of the aft flap assembly [2] and the seal
[63] is in the limit.

(14) Do a check of the adjustment of the seals at the inboard and outboard ends of the aft flap
assembly [2]:

(a) On the inboard and outboard ends of the aft flap assembly [2], measure the distance
between the aft flap assembly [2] and the main flap [1].
(b) Remove the rig pin from the crankshaft [3].
(c) Use the crankshaft [3] to manually extend the aft flap assembly [2] until the seal [88] and
seal [93] are clear of the main flap [1].
(d) Measure the distance the seal [88] and seal [93] extends away from the aft flap
assembly [2].
(e) If the distance the seal [88] and seal [93] extends is not in the limit of the distance you
measured plus 0.150 ±0.100 inches (3.81 ±2.54 millimeters), then adjust the position of the
applicable seal [88] or seal [93]:
1) Loosen the nuts [88], washers [91] and bolts [89] that attach the retainer [90].
2) Move the retainer [90] and the seal [88] or seal [93] to change the distance the seal
extends past the aft flap assembly [2].
3) Tighten the nuts [87], washers [91] and bolts [89] that attach the retainer [90].
(f) Use the crankshaft [3] to manually retract the aft flap assembly [2] to the retracted position.
NOTE: The seal [88] and seal [93] can extend a maximum of 0.5 inch (12.7 millimeters)
