NOTE: A threaded wire is attached to the switch electrical cable.
(a) Slowly pull the switch electrical cable through the control wheel handle with the other end
of the threaded wire.
(b) Install the insulator [6] between the switch assembly [1] and the interphone switch wires.
(c) Put the switch assembly [1] in its position.
(d) Install the screws [5] to hold the switch assembly [1] to the control wheel.
1) Tighten the screws [5] to 4.0 ±0.5 in-lb (0.45 ±0.06 Nm).
2) Make sure there is 0.002 in. (0.05 mm) clearance between the control wheel handle and
switch assembly [1].
(e) Remove the threaded wire from the switch electrical cable.
(f) Install the terminals on the switch wires.
(g) Install the screws [9], washers [8], and washers [10] to connect the terminals of the switch
wire to the terminal block [7].
1) Make sure that the terminals are installed correctly according to the color code
identification (Figure 401).

(2) Install the screws [4] to attach the terminal block cover [3] to the control wheel.

(3) Install the medallion [2] on the control wheel.

(4) Remove the safety tag and close this circuit breaker:

STABILIZER TRIM CONTROL SWITCH - ADJUSTMENT/TEST
1. General
A. This procedure has this task:
(1) Stabilizer Trim Control Switch Test - Use this test to make sure that the stabilizer trim control
switches operate correctly.
B. The stabilizer trim control switches are installed on the control wheels. Each control wheel has two
stabilizer trim control switches.
C. This procedure is applicable for the stabilizer trim control switches on the captain’s and first officer’s
control wheels.

(3) Make sure that the main cutout switch (S272) on the control stand is in the NORMAL position.

(4) Make sure that the column actuated stabilizer trim (override) switch on P8-47 module is in the
NORM position.
D. Stabilizer Trim Control Switch Test

(1) Do a test of the stabilizer trim control switches on the applicable control wheel:
(a) Push and hold the two stabilizer trim control switches on the applicable control wheel to the
NOSE DOWN position.
1) Make sure the stabilizer leading edge moves up.
2) Make sure the trim wheels turn in the nose down position.
3) Make sure that the STAB TRIM indicator for the applicable control wheel moves in the
NOSE DOWN position.

4) Release the two stabilizer trim control switches.
(b) Push and hold the two stabilizer trim control switches on the applicable control wheel to the
NOSE UP position.
1) Make sure the stabilizer leading edge moves down.
2) Make sure the trim wheels turn in the nose up position.
3) Make sure that the STAB TRIM indicator for the applicable control wheel moves in the
NOSE UP position.
4) Release the two stabilizer trim control switches.
5) Move the horizontal stabilizer to the neutral position.
(c) Push and hold the left stabilizer trim control switch on the applicable control wheel to the
NOSE UP position.
1) Make sure the stabilizer leading edge does not move.
2) Release the left stabilizer trim control switch.
(d) Push and hold the left stabilizer trim control switch on the applicable control wheel to the
