5. Inboard Flap Inboard Carriage Installation

(1) This task is applicable to the flap carriages at flap supports No. 4 and 5.

SUBTASK 27-51-13-420-003
(1) Install the carriage assembly [34] on the main flap [1]:
(a) Put the carriage assembly [34] in its position on the primary torque tube [38].
(b) Apply sealant, A00247 to the mating surface of the spacers [52].
(c) Apply sealant, A00247 to the shank and threads of the bolts [47] and bolt [54].
(d) Install the bolts [47] and bolt [54] with the spacers [52] through the primary torque tube [38]
and the carriage assembly [34].
(e) Put the attach plate [37] and rub block [33] in their position on the bolts [47].
(f) Install the washers [45] and nuts [46] on the bolts [47] and bolt [54].
(g) If they are not installed, install the bolts [35] and washers [36] that attach the rub block [33]
to the attach plate [37].

(2) Install the secondary torque tube [40] in the main flap [1]:

(a) Put the secondary torque tube [40] in its location in the primary torque tube [38].
(b) Install the bolts [50] and washers [51] through the secondary torque tube [40], primary
torque tube [38] and the carriage assembly [34].
(c) Apply sealant, A00247 to the filler [53].
(d) Install the filler [53], washers [48] and nuts [49] on the bolts [50].
NOTE: Install the filler [53] on the bottom bolt [50].
(e) Install the retainer [39] on the secondary torque tube [40].
1) Turn the retainer [39] until the holes for the bolts [41] align.
2) Apply sealant, A00247 to the fillers [43].
3) Install the bolts [41], washers [42], fillers [43] and nuts [44].

(3) Install the upper skin panel [31] on the main flap [1]:
(a) Apply sealant, A00247 to the mating surface of the upper skin panel [31] and the main flap
[1].
(b) Put the upper skin panel [31] in its position.
(c) Install the bolts [32]:
1) Apply compound, C00528 to the forward and aft rows of holes in the upper skin panel
[31].
2) Install the bolts [32] in the forward and aft rows of holes.
3) Apply sealant, A00247 to the bolts [32] that go in the ribs and stiffeners in the main flap
[1].
4) Install the bolts [32] in the ribs and stiffeners.
G. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

1. General
A. This procedure contains the task to do an inspection of the carriages for the inboard trailing edge
flaps.

A. General
(1) This task gives wear limits for the outboard carriage on the inboard flap.
