(18) If the inboard flap seal [52] and the outboard flap seal [51] are not in the correct position, then
adjust the seals:
(a) Adjust the outboard flap seal [51]:
1) Loosen the screws [54] that attach the outboard flap seal [51] and the seal retainer to
the outboard flap [1].
2) Adjust the position of the outboard flap seal [51].
3) Tighten the screws [54].
4) Make sure the outboard flap seal [51] extends Dimension B minus 0.75 inch from the
edge of the outboard flap skin.
(b) Adjust the inboard flap seal [52]:
1) Loosen the screws [53] that attach the inboard flap seal [52] and the seal retainer to the
inboard flap [2].
2) Adjust the position of the inboard flap seal [52].
3) Tighten the screws [53].
4) Make sure the inboard flap seal [52] extends Dimension B minus 0.70 inch from the
edge of the inboard flap skin.

(19) Retract the trailing edge flaps:
(a) Do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System Reactivation, TASK 27-51-00-440-801.
(b) Retract the flaps to the retracted position, do this task: Retract the Trailing Edge Flaps,
TASK 27-51-00-860-804.
(c) Do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System Deactivation, TASK 27-51-00-040-801.
H. Inboard Fixed Panel Adjustment

(1) Make sure the flap is in the retracted position.

(2) Measure the mismatch between the fixed lower panels [85] and the lower surface of the inboard
flap assembly [2] (Figure 503).

(3) If the mismatch is not in the limit of 0.00 ±0.06 inch (0.00 to 1.52 millimeters), adjust the
applicable lower panel [85] (Figure 504):
(a) Do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System Reactivation, TASK 27-51-00-440-801.
(b) Extend the trailing edge flaps to get access to the rods for the lower panels [85]. To extend
them, do this task: Extend the Trailing Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-803.
(c) Do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System Deactivation, TASK 27-51-00-040-801.
(d) Adjust the position of the outboard panel [93]:
1) Loosen the nuts [91] on the rod [92], rod [94], rod [95] and rod [98].
2) Adjust the length of the rod [92], rod [94], rod [95] and rod [98].

3) Tighten the nuts [91] on the rod [92], rod [94], rod [95] and rod [98].
(e) Adjust the position of the panel [107]:
1) Remove the nuts [105], washers [104], washers [103] and bolts [102] that attach the rods
[106] to the panel [107].
2) Adjust the length of the rods [106].
3) Install the bolts [102], washers [103], washers [104] and nuts [105] to attach the rods
[106] to the panel [107].
4) Install lockwire on the nuts [91].
(f) Adjust the position of the beam assembly [100]:
NOTE: The beam assembly [100] is between panel [107] and panel [101].
1) Loosen the nuts [91] on the rod [99].
2) Adjust the length of the rod [99].
3) Tighten the nuts [91] on the rod [99].
4) Install lockwire on the nuts [91].
(g) Adjust the position of the inboard panel [101]:
1) Adjust the rods [111] on the inboard end of the panel [101]:
a) Remove the nut [115], washer [114], washer [113] and bolt [112] that attach the rods
[111] to the panel [101].
b) Adjust the length of the rods [111].
c) Install the bolt [112], washer [113], washer [114] and nut [115] to attach the rods
[111] to the panel [101].
d) Install lockwire on the nut [91].
2) Adjust the rod [108], rod [109] and rod [110] for the panel [101]:
a) Loosen the nuts [91] on the rod [108], rod [109] and rod [110].
b) Adjust the length of the rod [108], rod [109] and rod [110].
c) Tighten the nuts [91] on the rod [108], rod [109] and rod [110].
d) Install lockwire on the nuts [91].
(h) Do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System Reactivation, TASK 27-51-00-440-801.
(i) Retract the trailing edge flaps to the retracted position. To retract the flaps, do this task:
Retract the Trailing Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-804.
(j) Do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System Deactivation, TASK 27-51-00-040-801.
(k) Make sure the mismatch between the fixed lower panels and the lower surface of the
inboard flap assembly [2] is in the limits.

(4) Do a check of the adjustment of the blade seals [84] on the fixed lower panels [85] (Figure 503):
(a) Measure the distance from the seam in the lower surface of the inboard flap assembly [2]
