1) Remove the0.2500 in (6.35 mm) rig pin, STD-4232 from the crankshaft assembly [17].
2) If it is necessary, remove the tension from the forward cable assembly [19] and cable
assembly [64]:
a) Remove the locking clips [66] from the turnbuckles [65].
b) Turn the turnbuckles [65].
3) Install the 0.2500 in (6.35 mm) rig pin, STD-4232 in the inboard bellcrank assembly [67]
and the outboard bellcrank assembly [33].
4) Adjust the tension in the aft cable assembly [19] until it is in the limit of 200 ±25 pounds
(889 ±110 newtons).
5) Adjust the tension in the forward cable assembly [19] until you can easily remove and
install the rig pins in the bellcranks.
NOTE: Make sure the tension in the aft cable assembly [19] stays in the limit.
(g) Install the locking clips [66] in the turnbuckles [65] for the cable assemblies [19] and cable
assemblies [64].
(h) Remove the rig pins from the inboard bellcrank assembly [67], outboard bellcrank
assembly [33] and the crankshaft assembly [17].

(7) Install the aft flap push rod assemblies [34]:
(a) Put the aft flap push rod assemblies [34] in their location between the aft flap [2] and the
bellcranks.
(b) Install the bolt [27], washer [28], bushing [29], washer [30] and nut [31] that attach the
inboard aft flap push rod assembly [34] to the inboard bellcrank assembly [67].
(c) Install the bushing [29], bolt [27], washer [28], washer [30] and nut [31] that attach the
outboard aft flap push rod assembly [34] to the outboard bellcrank assembly [33].
(d) Install the bushings [77], bolts [75], washers [76], washers [78] and nuts [79] that attach the
aft flap push rod assemblies [34] to the aft flap [2].
(e) Tighten the nuts [31] and nuts [79] to 50-80 pound-inches (5.6-9.0 newton-meters).
(f) Install pins [32] in the nuts [31].
(g) Install pins [80] in the nuts [79].

(8) If the aft flap [2] is installed, do an adjustment of the aft flap push rod assemblies [34]:
(a) Use the crankshaft assembly [17] to manually move the aft flap [2] to the retracted position.
(b) Install the 0.2500 in (6.35 mm) rig pin, STD-4232 in the crankshaft assembly [17].
(c) Measure the distance between the trailing edge of the aft flap [2] and the trailing edge of
the upper cove panel [101] on the main flap [1] (Figure 402).
NOTE: Measure the distance aft of the inboard and outboard aft flap push rod
assemblies [34].
1) At the outboard push rod assembly [34], make sure the distance is 9.2745 ±0.0600
inches (235.57 ±1.52 millimeters).
2) At the inboard push rod assembly [34], make sure the distance is 9.2319 ±0.0600
inches (234.49 ±1.52 millimeters).

(d) If the distance at the inboard or outboard pushrod is not in the limit, then adjust the length of
the applicable aft flap push rod assembly [34] (Figure 401):
1) Remove the rig pin from the crankshaft assembly [17].
2) Use the crankshaft assembly [17] to manually extend the aft flap [2] to the extended
position.
3) Adjust the length of the applicable aft flap push rod assembly [34]:
NOTE: For each 90 degree turn of the aft flap push rod assembly [34], the trailing
edge of the aft flap will move 0.04 inches (1.02 millimeters).
a) Loosen the nuts [81] on the aft flap push rod assembly [34].
b) Adjust the length of the aft flap push rod assembly [34].
c) Tighten the nuts [81].
d) Install lockwire on the nuts [81] and the locking keys [74].
4) Use the crankshaft assembly [17] to manually retract the aft flap [2] to the retracted
position.
5) Install the 0.2500 in (6.35 mm) rig pin, STD-4232 in the crankshaft assembly [17].
6) Make sure the distance from the trailing edge of the aft flap [2] to the trailing edge of the
upper cove panel [101] is in the limit.
(e) Remove the rig pin from the crankshaft assembly [17].
(f) Use the crankshaft assembly [17] to manually extend the aft flap [2] to the extended
position.

(9) Install the aft flap drive rod assembly [43]:
(a) Put the aft flap drive rod assembly [43] in its position between the drive rod fitting [44] and
the crankshaft assembly [17].
(b) Install the bolts [45], washers [46], bushings [47], washers [48] and nuts [49] that attach the
aft flap drive rod assembly [43] to the crankshaft assembly [17] and the drive rod fitting [44].
NOTE: Make sure the heads of the bolts [45] are on the inboard side.
(c) Tighten the nuts [49] to 30-50 pound-inches (3.4-5.6 newton-meters).
