5) Put the roller assembly [2] in its location on the rib [1].
6) Apply compound, C00528 to the holes in the rib [1] for the bolts [3].
7) Loosely install the bolts [3] and washers [4] that attach the roller assembly [2] to the rib
[1].
8) Move the roller assembly [2] until the upper roller [8] touches the upper surface of the
deflection control track [5].
9) Tighten the bolts [3] to 55-90 pound-inches (6.2-10.1 mm).
(j) Install or close the applicable access panels below the roller assembly [2]:

(5) Extend the trailing edge flaps to do a check of the inboard deflection control roller [22]
(Figure 501):
(a) Do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System Reactivation, TASK 27-51-00-440-801.
(b) Extend the trailing edge flaps to the 40-unit position. To extend them, do this task: Extend
the Trailing Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-803.
(c) Do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System Deactivation, TASK 27-51-00-040-801.

(6) Adjust the inboard deflection control roller [22] for the outboard flap:
(a) Use the manual or alternate system to retract trailing edge flaps until the deflection control
roller [22] engages the deflection control track [16]. To retract the flap, do this task: Retract
the Trailing Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-804.
NOTE: While you retract the flaps, monitor the deflection control roller [22] to see if the
outboard flap deflects when it engages the deflection control track [16].
(b) Make sure the deflection control track [16] touches the upper surface of the deflection
control roller [22].
(c) If the flap deflects when the deflection control roller [22] engages the track [16], or if the
track [16] does not touch the upper surface of the roller [22], then adjust the deflection
control roller [22]:
1) Extend the trailing edge flaps to get access to the deflection control roller [22]. To
extend the flap, do this task: Extend the Trailing Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-803.
2) Remove the bolt [19] and washer [18] that hold the retainer [17] and retainer [26] to the
deflection control rib [27].
3) Remove the retainer [17] for the outboard eccentric bushing [23].
4) Remove the pin [20] and loosen the nut [21] on the bolt [24].
5) Turn the outboard eccentric bushing [23] to change the position of the outboard
deflection control roller [22].
NOTE: Make sure you do not change the position of the inboard deflection control
roller [25].
6) Install the retainer [17] for the outboard eccentric bushing [23].
7) Install the bolt [19] and washer [18] that hold the retainer [17] and retainer [26].

8) Tighten the nut [21] finger tight and install the pin [20].
NOTE: If it is necessary, tighten the nut [21] the minimum amount necessary to install
the pin [20].

(7) Retract the trailing edge flaps to the retracted position:
(a) Do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System Reactivation, TASK 27-51-00-440-801.
(b) Retract the trailing edge flaps to the retracted position. To retract the flaps, do this task:
Retract the Trailing Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-804.
(c) Do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System Deactivation, TASK 27-51-00-040-801.

(8) Measure the mismatch between the lower surface of the main flap assembly [6] and the lower
fixed panels [41] (Figure 502).
(a) Make sure the mismatch is in the limit of 0.00 ±0.06 inch (0-1.52 mm).

(9) If the mismatch is not in the limit, adjust the position of the lower fixed panels [41] (Figure 504):
(a) Do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System Reactivation, TASK 27-51-00-440-801.
(b) Extend the trailing edge flaps to the 40-unit position. To extend them, do this task: Extend
the Trailing Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-803.
(c) Do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System Deactivation, TASK 27-51-00-040-801.
(d) Adjust the applicable links [92] for the lower fixed panels [41]:
1) Remove the nut [97], washer [96], washers [95], washer [94] and bolt [93] that attach the
link [92] to the lower fixed panel [41].
